[ Bradley's POV ]
"You guys know I have two siblings, my parents are divorced and my moms no longer part of the equation." Terry laid out the facts for his story, pushing his glasses up with a shaking hand. He sat up, his orange curls bouncing as he did. "Well, there's a reason why my dad has custody. Despite him being the biggest asshole on planet earth." He sighed.
Terry's dad was pretty abusive, but the police never believed Terry or his brother and sister, Jaxson and Lillie. No matter how many times they called CPS.
"Right after my sister was born, I was around seven. It was really late one night and I was playing with Jax while my mom nursed Lillie. My dad came home, drunk as fuck. He started yelling and throwing things as usual. My mom handed Lillie off to me and told me to hide. So I did." I could picture it perfectly in my head. Little terry, still living in London, terrified and trying to protect his siblings. It was an odd image, since Terry was such a strong person in my eyes. He continued,"I went and hid under my bed, making sure Jax kept Lillie quiet. She was a baby, of course she was going to make noise." He laughed, rubbing his hands together nervously. "I heard arguing as usual and then it got really quiet. Like, something was wrong quiet." He took a shaky breath. "I left Jax upstairs. I left and watched from the top of the stairs. My dad was holding onto my moms throat." Terry's eyes widened a bit, reliving the memory. "H-he choked her. I watched him choke her to death and they knew I was watching. When she died he made me help cover it up. I-I had to burn all of our clothes, and our toys. He set the house on fire and left my mom inside. We left London and hopped on the first flight to the states."
We stared at him with wide eyes. Terry took in heavy breaths and tried to hold back the tears from reliving his mother's passing. "I-I covered up a murder. Nobody even remembered her, she was just a body in a burnt down house." He coughed, laughing as he did. Finn gently hugged his arm, obviously having heard this story before. It was clear he had. A silence filled the room, and Terry slowly calmed down. When he was about to speak again, the house shifted.
The floors creaked loudly, and the walls groaned as if they were going to cave in. Tobi and Viola held onto me, the three of us sliding off of the bed onto the floor. The noise finally stopped and we looked around fearful of making any more noise. "Is it working?" Alice whispered, looking around slowly. "I think it is. Everyone needs to come clean." Tobi nodded, taking a gulp of air. Yukari looked around and sighed, cracking her neck and knuckles before speaking. "My turn."
Two years before meeting us, Yukari had nearly overdosed on the medicine she'd been taking for her ADD. She abused it frequently and had to go into therapy. Then she moved to Ellensburg.
Jane confessed to her near homicidal anger issues, and how she nearly slashed a tire on Viola's car just in the hopes she'd crash. Of course Jane didn't mean it, it was her anger taking over at something my sister had done. The look of fear in her eyes was enough to make Jane stop talking.
Finn once tried to drown his little brother in the bath because he was annoying. Not just on one occasion, multiple. But his brother was so loud and always yelled and squealed for their mother before Finn could do any damage.
Ryan of course confessed to cheating on Viola with Natasha. Saying after a particularly bad argument she and I had, she went to Ryan crying her eyes out and begging for some kind of comfort and care. I laughed at that, telling Ryan she was the one who started the argument and that she left me crying at home until I forgave her.
It hurt to know that they'd been cheating on us for over a month.
Natasha's secret wasn't so secret. She was abusive and taking advantage of people's kindness, lying and manipulating those who gave her any attention.
Amelia confessed her reasoning for hating Tobi, she felt jealous that she was spending so much time with me. Sure we were only cousins but she was like a sister to me as well, and I cared about her a lot. I told her not to be jealous, and that I loved her just a much, even more, than I did Tobi. Tobi laughed and took no offense. Family came first.
Next was Viola. A truly terrifying secret came from her. She had tried to poison Natasha on multiple occasions. But either never got the chemicals she needed to kill her, or the poison itself wasn't strong enough, and simply made her sick. I secretly wished that at least one time the poison had worked.
Tobi had terrible insecurity about her body, and twice slipped into bulimic and anorexic habits. Even going so far as to hurt herself in order to feel smaller. Alice cried and told her she didn't need to be a size zero to be beautiful, that we all loved her the way she was.
