Chapter 5: Out on the town

They all packed they're little travel bags and headed out first they took a bus to big tree park and saw some pretty cool stuff there it wasn't much but they had a whole week there and they didn't want to tire themselves out. They soon went to little souvenir shops around town and bought a few things. There was a public pool that they went to and nearly got kicked out because Kory did a cannonball off the diving board. It was 2:00 when they wanted to check out some more sights. They hoped on a bus and headed down to Clearwater Beach and it was absolutely beautiful! "Woah there's no way we're going to be able to enjoy this all in a week." said Alex. He seemed to be the only one who wasn't as overwhelmed by this whole trip. "Did any of you guys bring sunscreen I can't come back looking like I went to the beach everyday. It's bad enough I blend in with the sand." Everyone just rolled their eyes. "Here I have some and you can't blend in with your red hair, trust me." Julia replied as she walked out into the water. Vanessa and Ryan decided to put down a blanket, turn on some music, and just relax for a little bit. Julia being as short as she was could barely keep her head above water and made sure not to stray too far or else she'd literally would be submerged in water. Alex and Kory tried to think of anything that could be dangerous but soon found out you couldn't really do much but chase each other around.

The day was coming to an end so they ordered some food from a nearby seafood restaurant and just ate on the beach while looking at the scenery. They couldn't believe that they ran away from home and were somewhat successful. Then, Alex said, "Hey guys, we kinda missed the bus to get back to our hotel." It was nearly 8:00 they couldn't be out here at night! "Are you serious!? Why didn't you tell us" everyone asked at once. "When you're eating delicious shrimp the last thing on your mind is how to get home." He replied sheepishly. As Julia was about to say something two surfers came towards them. "Hey, dudes and dudettes what are you guys still doing here?" That's when Ryan instantly said "We missed our bus on a school-" but Kory cut her off, "We're just trying to get back to our hotel and we missed our bus." Then the surfers said, "We'll drive you there bros." Ryan was done after she heard that. "Um, can we talk real quick? Ok, thanks! Guys we are not getting into a car with two strangers we don't know! Do you know how that could end!?" She yelled at them. "Ry it's our only option right now come one someone can keep their phone near them just in case." Vanessa tried to reason. "NO! I'll just walk then." She huffed and walked away with her stuff. No one tried to stop her because no one could.

"Hey, guys were ready to go." Yelled Kory. "Sure thing hop in!" The van was very smelly and probably hadn't been cleaned in years but it was their only way of getting there. "Shady Oaks isn't too far from where we're headed." Oliver said. Which was the only name they knew so far Oliver seemed more talkative than surfer number 2. Then the van came to a halt. There was Ryan with all her stuff soaked in mud. "Ryan! Come on get in I don't think you want to walk like that." Julia shouted. After 5 minutes of convincing Ryan got in, the card ride was smoother than expected and they found out a lot about the two surfers including their yoga studio/restaurant. Then the car started to slow down, "What's happening?" Vanessa asked. "Our car broke down luckily you guys are only 3 miles away from your destination, I guess we'll just have to walk."  This day turned out to be a really good/bad day but it was a big adventure I guess. The walk wasn't bad and by the time they got there it was close to 9:00, not bad timing. "Thanks for the ride guys." Kory said. "No problem be safe!" Oliver replied and they we're off. They all were super exhausted and could barely stand so they all said their goodbyes and headed to their rooms.
