Alex and I have both decided to retire. Regan is almost five and its time we settle down and are there for her more. She needs to be in a stable environment not traveling around from place to place every few weeks. I get off the bus and start walking through the tunnel to the locker room.

"Ay yo Morgan!"

I turn around and see Hope standing with Carli and Thomas, their son. I smile and walk over and pull Hope in for a hug. When I let her go I hug Carli and kiss Thomas on his cheek causing him to giggle.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"You didn't think we'd miss your last game now did you?"

I turn around and see Ash and Ali standing with the twins, Kayla and Kyle. They walk over and I hug them too. They all retired around the time their kids we're born.

"No Tobin?" I ask slightly upset.

"She's still pretty pissed at you Y/N." Carli says.

"Yeah no kidding." I mumble.

Flashback

"Tobin your being ridiculous!" I yell.

"Well I'm sorry for being upset about you getting married!" Tobin yells back.

"Tobin you know how I feel about you." I say.

"Yeah but it obviously means nothing to you." Tobin says.

She reaches for the doorknob but I grab her wrist.

"Please don't go." I say just above a whisper.

Tobin turns around and presses her lips against mine. I didn't pull back because I know this is the last time I'm going to see Tobin for a while.

"Goodbye Y/N." Tobin says.

And like that, she was gone.

Present

That was the last time I saw Tobin. Its been about eight years, I've heard she's playing with PSG. Tobin left the national team and hasn't come back, she even left the Portland Thorns.

"Look today is about you and Alex. Don't let Tobin get you down." Ali says.

"Yeah, we know you guys are still on rocky terms but don't think about that." Ashlyn says.

"At least not now." Hope says.

"Yea, right now you need to think about playing the game of your life." Carli says.

I nod and hug them all before going in the locker room and getting my uniform on. I look around at all the new players, remembering when Alex and I were their age. We're are the veterans now and that captains for the team. All the 15ers left along with most of the girls we played with in highschool and college.

"Hey, are you ready?" Alex asks sitting in my lap.

I smile and kiss her shoulder blade. Alex lays her head on my shoulder and I kiss her cheek.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I mumble into her.

I grab the captains armband and put it on. The refs come in and we all line up. We walk out onto the field and the national anthems are played. Alex and I step in front of the two teams and hold each others hands.

"Playing in the last game of their national team career, Alex and Y/N Morgan!" The announcer says.

We wave at the crowd and look around seeing our families. I see Regan and she's cheering jumping up and down with our jersey on. The team made a special jersey for her to wear, I'm 17 and Alex is 13 so the number on the back of Regan's jersey is thirty with Morgan on it. The game starts and I do what I did my first game. I stay quite, making sure my touches are clean and precise. There's a lot of back and fourth between us and Canada. Which is to be expected because we're both good team. Halftime comes and the score is 2-0. Don't ask me how but Mal ended up scoring both of our goals, she's been amazing all year. We go into the locker room and I tell the girls the game plan. Once I'm done we all get hydrated.

"Hey." Mal says motioning for Alex and I to come over to her.

Alex and I get up from our lockers and walk over to Mal.

"The both of you are going to score a goal before this game is over." Mal says.

I smile and nod my head. Mal pulls me in for a hug and I kiss her forehead. The second half starts and we starts off with the ball. Mal get the ball and passes it back so some of the Canadian players run up. We get forward and our midfield keeps possession. The ball is lobbed forward and Mal get to it. She looks for Alex and I and we both start our runs towards. The thing about the three of us is we can all score from may ranges and are all dangerous. So over marking us and under marking us is always a problem. Mal gets me the ball and I look up. I have two defenders on me so I do a few moves and easily get around them. It's just the keeper and I, she shifts her weight to the left because that's the side of the field I'm coming down. If I place the ball just right it'll go in the far side of the net on the right. Defenders are coming to mark me so I shoot to the right and the ball rolls into the post, reflecting into the net. I look at Mal and she's running towards me. She jumps into my arms and I catch her. The rest of the team congratulates me and we head back to our half. The ball goes out for a throw in and the ref signals for a sub. I look over and see my number in red. I take the armband off and give it to Alex.

"I'm waiting for you to score that goal." I say.

She nods and kisses me. I hug the team before coming off the field and sitting on the bench. As I walked off the field I saw the little girls and the fans yelling my name. Its taking everything for me not to cry right now. Its been a good eighteen years on this team.

"Y/N!" Kealia yells.

I look at her and she points to the field. Alex has the ball and she's going towards the goal. The keeper is off her line and I know Alex sees it too. Alex chips the ball over the keeper and its in the back of the net. I get up along with the rest of the bench and clap. Alex points at me and I nod my head. The ball goes out and another sub is signaled. I see Alex's number in red and know this is the end of our chapter. Alex gives Mal the armband and hugs the team before walking off the field. She walks over to me and I pull her in for a hug. We sit on the bench and watch the rest of the game.

"Our time is over." Alex says laying her head on my shoulder.

"Yeah but theirs has just started." I say motioning to the new players sitting on the bench.
