Octavian didn't have any dreams which was great. He had already had a terrible day, waking up in an alley in ripped clothing, having no idea who he was, a goddess telling him that he had a huge responsibility, meeting a gothic girl who wanted to kill him again, getting attacked by empousai and getting hurt and having weird mood swings and splitting headaches.
If all that happened in one day, he didn't want to think about what would happen next. And from what Marium had said about the camp; he had a feeling they wouldn't like him much.
Octavian slept peacefully, but he woke up to arguing.
"...and then he just has to show up again—" said an angry voice of a boy around Octavian's age, from what he could tell.
Another voice sighed, and it spoke. "Percy, if the gods sent him, danger must be on its way." They sounded old and tired like a grandfather. Octavian felt angry for a weird reason when he heard the name Percy.
"Danger? He is the danger!" He heard the boy shout. Octavian kept his eyes closed.
"Percy, calm down!" a girl said. She sounded like she had some power behind her words, and Octavian immediately felt calm, like he felt with the empousai.
He heard the boy sigh. "Maybe you're right, Piper, but why is he here? Do the gods want to mess up our lives again?" Anger returned to his voice.
"I'm with Percy on this." Another voice said. They had a Mexican accent and sounded nervous. "He's a terrible guy. I mean, he wanted to destroy this whole camp."
"Maybe the gods didn't send him." Someone else said; a girl who sounded like she thought about everything before she said it, choosing her words carefully. "Maybe he just managed to escape from the underworld."
"My dad won't like that." A cool voice said, all serious with a hint of sorrow. "He hates it when souls escape like that."
"Maybe this is someone else's doing." A voice suggested. It was a girl who sounded just as angry as the Percy guy, but not freaking out and everything.
All these voices sounded familiar, but Octavian couldn't put a finger on it.
"Rachel, has the prophecy started yet?" The Percy kid asked.
There was silence for a few moments before the girl who spoke just before Percy did sighed. "The future is cloudy, but I believe it has."
Octavian couldn't bare it any longer and he opened his eyes. The sun was just setting from what he could tell from the window, though he didn't know how many days had passed. He sat up and rubbed his eyes and saw that he was wearing white hospital clothes, and was on a bed too, with other beds surrounding.
He looked up and saw several people. A man with a beard with grey streaks in a wheelchair, a girl with color changing eyes and brown choppy hair, a boy who had fierce sea-green eyes and messy black hair, a scrawny boy with a tool belt and curly brown hair, a boy with black eyes in black clothing with black shaggy hair and was pale, and a girl with worried grey eyes and blonde curly hair. Octavian's eyes landed on one other girl in the corner though. She stared right at Octavian with her green eyes. She had messy curly red hair and freckles, and her jeans and t-shirt was splattered with paint.
Memories were pulling at his mind. He felt like knew these people, but he couldn't exactly say who they were. But he managed to recall one thing: that they seemed like enemies.
The boy with sea-green eyes and messy black hair walked up angrily to him. Octavian leaned back as the boy was face to face with him.
"Percy," The blonde girl said cautiously. But the boy; Percy, apparently, grabbed Octavian's white shirt collar.
