He sits in the dark dank musk filled waiting room, next to the curly haired girl. He's eyes keep looking around still they always go back to her. Giving in to his obvious obsession, he keeps staring.
"What is it Alexander?" The girl questions him without even glancing his way.
He sighs. She knows his name but he has yet to learn her name. Not knowing what to say nor how to sort out all his emotions he states the first thing that comes to mind.
"It is not polite to look through another's belongings" he scolds her.
She gives a hearty laugh that seems to brighten the whole office. "How else would I have learned your name, Alexander?"
Her question is playful; she smiles at him, making him forget his current predicament, he smiles back.
"You could have asked." he states with the smile still on his face.
The smiles begins to fade as he remembers that he still lacks the knowledge of her name. Why was he smiling in the first place? He never smiled, not since. . . That wasn't the point. The predicament is how this girl has him sitting here smiling like a fool. He is here smiling and wanting to know things about some girl he doesn't even like; a girl he is pretty sure he despised earlier today. Something is obviously off about this situation. What was worse he still hasn't learned her name.
"It's Lila" she says.
"What is Lila?" Alexander asks confusingly.
"My name, Alexander." She laughs as she talks, "You are silly."
"Lila?" He states aloud again. How did she know to tell him her name. It is like she can read minds he thinks to himself. Opening his mouth to ask her another question he is interrupted by a loud booming voice.
"MR. LUTHOR, A WORD. MY OFFICE NOW. " Principal Telston stands in the door way that leads into the dark dank office. Alexander slowly stands; regretting his decision to come to school today, regretting not being in class plotting his revenge, regretting that the Lila's curly black hair is misplaced from their earlier fall. Lila stands up quickly and takes his hand. He looks up at her; she smiles, it warms his not yet cold heart. He smiles as he lets go of her soft mocha hand and walks into the office squeezing past the overly large woman.
He takes a seat in the dusky brown floral chair. The door slams behind him. Principal Telston stomps to her desk sits across from him. Her chair creaks from the pressure. There is a long pause, she opens her mouth to speak and a knock at the old wooden door interrupts her. They look at the door; a tall bearded figure walks in.
