He stares at the door; watching the man. Not knowing how the man will react, he just sits and stares. The man calmly walks in and the door slams swiftly behind him.

"Father." Alexander greets the man. The man looks at him, no emotion displays upon his face, he nods in acknowledgement. The nod last merely a second for Alexander it seems like an eternity. The man adverts his attention to Principal Telston. She feels the tension as if she is being cut with a knife her self; she moves nervously in her seat before speaking.

"Mr. Luthor, it is good to see you." She has a nervous smile when speaking. Almost all people did when speaking with his father. His father demanded fear with his beady eyes; in return he gained respect. He waited for the day that when he commanded respect.

When the silence was too much for her she meekly spoke one word. "Sir?"

Mr. Luthor stared at her. After a long noiseless pause he finally spoke, "Why?"

"I don't understand, sir." She speaks the softest Alexander has ever heard her. Where was her loud booming voice, her take charge attitude, her I'm not taking your crap speech. Where had the fierce independent woman gone; she crumbles.

She crumbles in front of his father; the thought almost makes him smile. Almost; however, it wasn't a large feat, as any one would crumble with their job on the line. His father is one of the highest contributors to this beloved school of his. Thus having a lot of control over employment department.

"Do you not understand what a question is Ms. Telston?" Mr. Luthor asks her. He calls her Ms., an unmissable sign that she has not yet earned his respect.

"I do understand a question; just not what you meant by yours." Alexander could tell that she was about to become a little feisty when she added a livid, "Sir"after a few pauses. She continues with a little more bass in her voice. "What I don't understand, sir, is whether you are asking why I called you or why it is good to see you. Sir."

A door slamming from the waiting room catches Alexander's attention, causing his eyes to face the door; missing the facial expression exchanges between his father and Principal Telston. He hears faint muffled sounds emitting from behind the office door.

His father on the other hand is not so easily distracted and doesn't miss a beat of the hint of distaste in Principal Telston's tone. He bangs his hands on the desk, jolting Alexander's attention back to the conversation at hand, and speaks. "Why? Why are you wasting my money? Why? Why do you call me here for this nonsense.? My son was out in the hall with a pass, yet you call me to reprimand him for disrupting another class. Why? Why do you call? What is the point of me sending him to this school if this school cannot even figure out how to punish their own students?" He voice is stern and carries. Alexander is looking at his father with dismay trying to understand if he is just upset with the school or him as well. He could clearly see his fathers anger just not its full context.

Principal Telston does stand down and now her voice is just as loud as his fathers "This school that you chose to send your son to would like for the parents of all students, not just the underprivileged, to be involved in the education of their children. Including the disciplinary actions, Mr. Luthor." Alexander just keeps looking back and forth between them as their voices get louder.

"I am a part of my sons education, Ms. Telston." Mr. Luthor exclaims fiercely.

"It is Principal Telston." She speaks finally standing from her chair. "Your son will not be allowed to resume his class until Monday. Be grateful that is his only disciplinary action due to your arrogance, Mr. Luthor." She is red in the face. Alexander did not know that her dark skin could get so red. "You can see yourself out, Mr. Luthor."

"You are a disgrace, Ms. Telston." Mr. Luthor scuffs at her. "Lets go Lex." Alexander gets up to follow him. He knows he is not in trouble since his father didn't call him by his full name.

The door opens swiftly and Alexander follows his angered father out of the office. He feels very satisfied with the outcome, he knows his face shows it. As they walk out the office he sees Lila's parents. He is surprised; she doesn't really look like either of them. He notices that they are agitated; he also notices that she has tears in her eyes. He notices his own anger.
