Luke POV
As soon as Lauren hung the phone up I knew that I screwed up this time. I put my head in my hands,"Fuck!"

Way to go, make your fiancé mad and make your daughter cry. The thing that tore me apart was hearing Juniper cry. It always made me upset when Lauren and I fight but this was an entire new feeling.

That is our little girl and she shouldn't be hearing us fight like that. It hurt me so much when I heard Juniper crying and knowing that I was the one to cause it just hurt that much more.

I stood from my bed, tucked my phone into the top draw of my dresser and headed down to the front foyer. I met there with Lt. Grey, perfect.

I saluted and stood on gard until he acknowledged my presence,"What is it that you need Mr. Layton?"

"Sir promision to go to the shooting range sir." I said never leaving my gaze from in front of me.

"Promision granted." I nodded and walked away. As soon as I got there, all of the anger started to rise up again.

******

After the shooting range, I decided to hit the gym for a good workout to get the rest of my anger out. It seemed to have worked so I just went back to my room and laid on my bed. I have no idea on what time it is but it didn't matter anymore.

I kept trying to call Lauren but there was never an answer. It would break me if she left this time. I can still remember her wanting to leave me before she found out that she was pregnant with Juniper.

Now that she is here we will be a better family. I will start coming home more often.

Maybe only going away for a month at a time a couple times a year. Not like what I have been doing for a while only coming home for a month every few months out of the year.

When I met Lauren I was on a 6 month break and had a few months left and have been working ever since.

My father was in the military and so was my grandfather so as soon as I was old enough and done schooling, I was shipped off.

My mother is such a sweet lady a complete opposite to what my father is. She was always the one to care for us and tuck us in every night when my father was gone away on a mission.

When my father was home, mom wasn't allowed to tuck me in, only my little sister. He was like an old school father; he brought the bacon home.

He worked for our family's money while my mom loved and cared us. The only way that we were allowed to address him was Sir or Father. He never once told me while I was growing up that he loved me.

It kind of hurts but I understand why he did it now. He wanted me to be a proper man, a real man for my family.

I will provide for Lauren and our children but I will show all of them that they mean the world to me. Give them the childhood that I never had.

Just then there was a knock at the door. I furrowed my eyebrows before replying,"Come in."

I watched as the wooden door swung open, revealing my best friend Josh,"Luke..."

I stood,"What happened?"

He sighed and put a hand on his face,"Juniper and Lauren..."

I quickly and frantically asked,"What happened?"

He sighed,"They got into a car crash."

"I have to see them."

He nodded his head,"Go, I will tell Lt. Grey."
