Luke's POV
I've never been so scared and felt so guilty in my entire life. I had my baby girl in my lap still screaming for her Momma from what had happened almost three days ago.

I tried to rock her back and forth gently whispering,"It's okay baby girl. I know that you miss your Momma but Daddy's here. Daddy will always be here."

She wouldn't stop crying and was now coughing from how much she had been screaming and crying. I'm surprised that she hadn't woken up Lauren.

Someone burst through the door and I immediately identified the man as Steven,"Is she okay? I flew home as soon as I herd."

I nodded,"She should be okay but Juniper isn't. I feel so bad that my poor baby girl has to see her Momma like this."

He through for a moment before offering,"I could take her and give you two some alone time. Looks like you could use it."

I looked down at my very upset baby and thought that I can't just leave her like this,"I can't leave her like this Steven but thanks for the offer."

"Okay. I have called her mom and dad and they should be here shortly but if you wouldn't mind."

I shook my head,"No of course. I'll take her for a walk to get some fresh air and I'll leave you two be."

I knew that Steven was a nice guy and wouldn't do anything to hurt Lauren while I'm gone. I honestly do trust the guy after seeing how he is with them when he visits, which is quiet often.

I put Juniper in her stroller and walked to the elevator to the main lobby. I walked outside and sat at the front entrance in silence for the first time in a long while.

Juniper's little eyes were fixed on the birds that were flying above us and a smile played on her lips revealing her two bottom teeth that were poking through. It broke my heart knowing that Lauren wasn't here to see this. Her little girl, our little girl growing up in front of my eyes.

I had been so fixated on this most perfect little girl that I hadn't noticed Lauren's parents had walked over to us. Her mother had been crying for some time now and she just looked exhausted.

She sobbed and I took her into my arms and squeezed her tight enough to know that I was there,"She'll be okay."

"Do you know what happened?" She questioned and backed away so that she could hug her husband.

I rubbed my arm up and down,"I honestly can say that I don't. All I know is that something switched in her eyes and she started hyperventilating and she couldn't control her breathing. That's about all I know but the doctors are doing some testing to find out what actually went wrong and why she hasn't woken up yet."

Her step dad pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath before walking over and picking up Juniper. I looked down at the ground as he heald her to his chest tightly and swayed.

"Did Steven make it yet?" Lauren's mom asked turning her attention from Juniper to me.

"Yeah he's actually there with her right now. She wouldn't stop crying so I thought that taking her out for a bit would help. And it did." I replied and rubbed Juniper's small back.

She clung to her grandpa's side as he heald on to her tighter. "Did you want to go up and see her? I have to change her and feed her soon anyways."

We all walked up to her room and when we got there Lauren was awake and mumbling to Steven who sat beside her on the bed gently rubbing her back.

"She's awake and you didn't get any nurses?" I exclaimed as I walked in but only to be interrupted by a nurse with a clipboard.

"She has to stay in bed for the next couple of days but everything looks almost normal." She wrote some things down on Lauren's chart before walking out of the room.
