Chapter 22

Lauren's POV
Four months later
I sat there staring down at the plastic stick. I hope this is my month it's gotta be after trying for so long.

I thought about having a son and how wonderful he would be. How kind. I just hope that there isn't anything wrong why I haven't gotten pregnant yet. I just don't want to tell him yet and don't want it to come up, ever.

I looked down at the stick and saw a negative sign. I sighed and tossed it in the garbage and washed my hands before exiting the bathroom and walked to Juniper's room.

When I opened the door she was sitting up in her bed,"Hi baby girl."

She smiled and stood up,"Hi momma!"

I came in and sat in my chair,"So how are we doing this tonight?"

She scrambled to get off her bed and climbed into my lap,"Like this."

I smiled at her and grabbed the book we picked out earlier and started rocking and reading. When I finished the book she questioned,"Why are you sad Momma?"

I looked down at her green eyes and smiled,"I'm not sad Juniper. I'm just so tired that I might fall asleep right here."

She smiled and got up making sure to grab my hand. She pulled me onto her bed and scurried under the covers,"We can have a sleep over."

I smiled at my sweet girl and got under the covers making sure to pull them up over my mouth so she could only see my eyes,"Are you happy I got a big girl bed? We wouldn't fit on the baby one."

I chuckled,"My feet would be hanging out the sides."

"Mine to!" She gasped and stretched her legs.

We talked for a bit before she yawned and curled into my body with her head on my chest. When I was sure she was asleep tears started sliding down my face and I cried silently.

I had her on my hip as I rushed out that morning already late for work,"Do you have everything?"

She nodded,"What am I doing today?"

I buckled her into her seat,"We are going to the set today for a bit then I'm driving you to school. After school I will be there to pick you up and hopefully go home but if not, back to set to finish."

"What happens when we get home?" She questioned her green eyes lighting up.

"We will get in the shower then got to bed." I closed the door and walked to the drivers seat and made my way to the secluded area.

Once we pulled up it was still dark out and Juniper was out cold. I grabbed my purse and put on her backpack before getting her out and holding her up with my arms.

I opened my trailer door and walked to the back and set her down in the bed. After I made sure she was tucked in, I started getting everything organized for the day and cleaning up the mess from yesterday.

I had her school outfit and an extra in her back back as well as a pull up diaper just in case. She always hates that I send her with one but always lightens up when she sees her snacks.

I set it on the counter and got ready for makeup and wardrobe.

"Let's go Juniper." I called for her as I started walking back from the scene covered in blood.

When she saw me her eyes got big and she screamed. I ran up to her and smiled,"I'm okay baby. Remember how we talked about how this is pretend? It's fake I'm not hurt."
