Chapter 20

Two and a half years later

Lauren's POV
I woke up to the patter of a set of tiny feet. I smiled and kept my eyes closed at the door swung open and seconds later I felt a small body struggling at my side of the bed before feeling a weight on my chest,"Morning Ma!"

I opened my eyes and smiled brightly up at my baby girl,"Good morning my baby girl,"I paused and hugged her tightly,"How did you sleep?"

She smiled and climbed between Luke and I and shrugged her small shoulders,"Good but it was too loud."

I rubbed her short hair that was just cut a week ago,"Was it those dogs again?"

She nodded and started squirming around and holding herself,"Momma I have to go."

I hurried and get out of bed, picked her up and took her into the bathroom.

As she was sitting on the toilet she smiled at me,"Can I get Daddy up?"

I smiled and nodded,"If I can help."

She smiled and nodded at me. After sitting there for a minute she finally let me know that she was done. Once I had her cleaned up I had her wait for me to go.

Once we were done I raced her to the bedroom. I let her get ahead of me causing her to yell,"I'm gonna win Momma! You're going too slow!"

"You're going too fast baby girl!" I yelled back as she turned the corner to our bedroom.

She took the corner too fast and the PJ's she was wearing had the footies attached and she slipped.

I ran up to her as she was crying and on the verge of screaming. I set her on my hip,"What happened?"

"She slipped taking the corner coming  in the bedroom." I replied as I set her on the bathroom counter.

She wiped her eyes and stuttered,"I hit my head here."

I pushed her hair to the side to where she touched and saw a pink goose egg. My heart broke seeing my baby in pain and my eyes started to water,"I'll call her doctor."

While he called I ran the bath and set her on the toilet seat,"Momma why you crying?"

I smiled at her and bent down in front of her,"I was just remembering how we tried to scare Daddy this morning."

I saw her face light up and she smiled brightly,"We can still scare him Momma. We can wait until he gets here and yell BOO!"

I put my hand on my chest and pretended to act scared,"That's was so good you just scared me!"

She hugged me,"Sorry Momma but I was just trying to show you what to do."

I checked the water and saw that it was done,"Do you want to get in the bath with Momma?"

She nodded so I took her diaper and PJ's off before undressing myself. Before getting into the bath I set my wedding set on the counter.

I turned around and picked Juniper up and sat us in the bath. She smiled and spun around so that she was facing me,"You want to get clean first and then play?"

She nodded and stood up so that I could wash her body and when I got to her toes she giggled,"That tickles Momma!"

I smiled when she grabbed the washcloth and lifted my foot and swiped my foot,"Oh my gosh! That does tickle Juniper!"

She smiled,"I know! It tickles every time Momma!"

"Come here." She sat in front of me so I washed the soap off and got her hair wet. She loves this watermelon scented soap that Luke bought for her so she requests that everyday.
