Chapter 10

Lauren's POV
"Shit I'm running late." I cursed as I ran down the hall clipping in my second earing.

"Lauren slow down before you fall." Emma demanded.

I ignored her comment and immediately walked over to where she sat crisscrossed on the couch holding my daughter. "You have everything and you know where everything is? Call me if anything-"

"Lauren I know you don't have to worry about her. This is what I'm here for." She assured me before bring a full Juniper over her shoulder and burping her.

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose,"I'm sorry it's just that I've never left her ever Emma and you know that."

She nodded and brought a two month old Juniper back into her arms. I sighed and kissed her soft forehead,"Mommy loves you baby girl. I'll be back home soon and in the meantime don't give auntie Emma too much trouble."

I grabbed my purse and put the keys inside, the two travel mugs filled with coffee, one with two cream and two sweetener and one with two cream. With everything in hand I was getting ready to walk out the door before Emma called,"Don't you forget your breakfast Lauren. It's in the paper bag beside the cutting board!"

I sighed when I saw the bag and gripped it with my teeth and walked to the front door. I struggled to open it and before walking out I yelled,"Love you guys!"

I jogged down the stairs and ran straight to Steven's car. I smiled at him the best I could with the paper bag in my teeth. He waved before jumping out and opening the door for me. "Thanks."

He smiled and grabbed the bag from my mouth as well as his coffee,"Two cream?"

"Yeah figured that we wouldn't have time to stop today. I don't even know what's in the bag that Emma packed."

I sat in the seat and put my buckle on as Steven closed the door and rushed to the other side. He sat in his seat and put his buckle on before putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the parking space and onto the highway.

I dug into the bag and pulled out a toasted everything bagel with butter,"This one's yours."

He glanced over and smiled,"Oh sweet, give me a bite I'm starving."

He heald open his mouth and I placed a corner into it letting him tear off a piece. When he was done he smiled,"Emma sure knows how to make a damn good bagel."

I chuckled and took a bite of my whole grain with cream cheese. I nodded my head as I chewed and gave Steven a bite of his again.

We quickly finished our bagels and were now listening to the radio. "When does she have her checkup?"

I turned the music down slightly,"Tomorrow morning at 9 and then after that I'm going to mine just to check up on things."

He nodded,"So I take it you took the day off?"

I shook my head,"No I was just told that I don't need to come in tomorrow."

"Me neither, you want me to drive you?"

I nodded and smiled,"Sure if you aren't busy."

I rushed back to my trailer anxious to get home to my baby who I haven't seen since 5 this morning.

I quickly shoved everything I needed into my purse and tried to forget the embarrassing scene Steven and I had to shoot today. It was kind of strange to me because I felt safe with him but the fact that about 15 extra people were in the room at the same time made me feel embarrassed.
