I jerked awake at the sound of people running around everywhere. Xander was already gone. I sighed, got dressed, and went to go find him. I jogged down the stairs and saw everyone running around except for Xander. I went in the kitchen, where Lexi and Stephanie were cooking most of the food, to find him, but he wasn't there, either.
"I sent him to Blake to help him," Lexi absentmindedly told me.
I groaned and traveled through the crowd of people in the living room to go outside. I finally saw him and Blake and Jamie putting the chairs outside of the multiple tables, and putting black cloths over them that hung to the ground, and setting everyone's places up.
They had to roll the silverware up in a black napkin and then set up the little vases of red roses and the little jars of sweets that Stephanie had made for each table, along with setting all the plates and everything out.
I strode over to my golden-haired angel, who was clad in some tight black jeans and one of my large t-shirts that hung off his shoulder. I groaned at the sight of his creamy skin being revealed to me. Xander jumped when my arms slid around his waist and pulled him against me.
"Hello," He murmured inside of my embrace.
"Hey. You scared me when I couldn't find you. Don't wander off like that, honey."
"Wander off? I've been here for an hour."
I rubbed my jaw over the softness of his hair.
"You could have woken me up."
"I woke up when it was early. No one else was awake then. Besides, I'm sure you needed your sleep."
Sometimes, there was just no winning, I thought.
"Do you need help?" I asked him.
"You can help me finish doing the tables if you want. I have four more to go, but you should ask Stephanie or Lexi. They're running this thing."
His voice sounded a little amused. I ruffled his long hair before helping him with the tables. It took us another half an hour, but it actually looked quite pretty. Brandon was locked up somewhere because he couldn't see Stephanie. We went back inside and saw that everything was done, which was good because people started showing up minutes afterwards.
They all just sat down wherever. Blake's family, and Xander and I sat close to the Stephanie and Brandon's table. Once everyone was settled, and Brandon was at the top of the altar with the priest, Stephanie came out in her pretty dress with an older man that I presumed to be her father.
He took her down the the aisle which was formed by having tables on either side of the barely defined path. She slowly stepped down in her gray flats. It wouldn't have worked very well for her to wear heels because the ground was all moist and the heel would easily have sunk into it.
They eventually got up to Brandon, who grasped her wrist with tenderness. You could see how much they loved each other. They exchanged all their vows, which took the longest, and then Brandon slid a twisted ring with silver and black, glittery onto her finger. She did to the same to him, they kissed, and then the party started.
Everyone had some food together and chatted with each other. The kids went off to play together after their parents told them to go make some friends. There was a bunch of wine that each table had and, this time, Xander readily drank it. He was a little nervous, mostly because of all the people, so he stuck close to me.
The kids eventually came back, and he just moved onto my lap to give them some space. I mentally groaned at the feeling of his plump bottom moving over me, but Xander seemed totally unaware of how he was affecting me. The bride and groom were dancing, and very drunk.
