Tyler's POV
"I'm actually sick this time mum! I can't go to school....." I whine, trying to convince her to let me stay home.
"No Tyler, this is the third time this week you've told me you feel sick! What's happening at school? Are you being bullied?" She asks me worriedly, her eyebrows scrunched together and her eyes filled with tears.
She cares about me too much, I understand that she just wants me to be safe and happy but I don't like it, "no mum," I say whilst clenching my jaw so she can't tell that I'm lying, "I....I just have a test I haven't revised for, I'm just scared I'll do bad..." I can't tell her the truth, she's too fragile.
"You'll do fine honey, now hurry up you're going to be late! And don't forget your money for the bus!" She shouts as I grab my bag and run out the door.
I don't like taking the bus, I have no friends to sit with and I get called names and laughed at by the bullies. I try my best to just ignore them but recently it's been hard, I seem to be their only target. Sometimes I just walk to school, it takes a while but it's better then any of my other options.
I walk down the road to the bus stop, I plug my headphones into my phone and blast my favourite music, music helps me, it's what's kept me going this far.
The path is icy but I manage to get to the bus in time without slipping up. As I'm about to get on the bus I hear,"Oi!" And before I have a chance to turn around I'm flat on my back. "Do everyone a favour and don't bother taking the bus," snarls the bully.
I just grab my stuff and try my best to run away, but fail miserably by slipping up just a few feet from where I fell. I hear people laughing behind me but I don't bother turning back, I can just walk to school.
