Josh's POV

We quickly get into Tyler's car and he immediately starts driving. My dad had been drinking so he's probably just passed out on the couch, he shouldn't wake up anytime soon.

"Do you wanna play some music?" Tyler asks.

I nod at him nervously, "you probably won't like my music taste but sure," I find the car's aux cord and plug in my phone, the first song that comes up is 'Na Na Na' by My Chemical Romance.

"Omg I love this song!" Tyler shouts and then starts singing, "Drugs, gimme drugs, gimme drugs."

We both burst out laughing, I'm surprised that he knows the song, I'm usually mocked for my music taste.

"So you like MCR?" I ask, whilst turning down the volume a bit.

"Yeah, I love them!" he says excitedly, "I've always loved singing along to their songs, to be honest, I love singing."

"Cool," I say as he pulls into his driveway, "well I bet you're great at singing."

We jump out the car and run to his house, it's freezing cold and the sun has already set even thought it's only 6:30.

He unlocks the door and we stumble inside. His house is much bigger than mine and had more of a homely feeling, mine is small and  always so cold.

"So," Tyler starts, "I was thinking, we order a pizza, play some games, eat when it eventually comes and then just hang out in my garage or something, there's some pretty sick stuff in there."

"Sounds great," I answer quickly. Tonight's gonna be amazing, nothing can ruin it.

"Kay so if you just go look for a game, they are just in there," Tyler points towards a huge cabinet next to a tv, "and I'll go order some pizzas, pepperoni okay with you?

"Yeah, my favourite," I say whilst opening the cabinet, it was filled with games, but one game catches my eye.

A few minutes later, Tyler comes back into the room, "just ordered the pizzas, have you picked a game?"

"Yeah," I say whilst handing it to him, hoping he likes my choice.

"Cool, Mario kart 64, I'm actually amazing at this," he shouts, then let's out a giggle, "ready to lose?"

"Oh bring it on!" I shout back as he sets up the game and hands me a controller.

About half an hour later, the doorbell goes, Tyler quickly jumps up and runs to get the door. He wanders back in again a few minutes later with the pizzas.

We eat and play and eat and play some more. Tyler really was amazing at Mario Kart 64, he pretty much destroyed me.

"Wow, okay.... you beat me!" I say whilst laughing.

"Well you're not too bad yourself," he laughs, "do you play often?"

"I haven't played in a few years actually, I used to have the game before I moved and then it uh..... broke," it hadn't broke, I'd done something my dad didn't like so he sold it.... I couldn't tell him the truth.

"Oh..." Tyler answered, slightly confused, "well you're pretty good for someone that hasn't played in a while!"

"Thanks," I laugh, hoping he believed me, "so how are you so good?"

"Well I play most nights with my brothers, they aren't very good but it's practice," he says, laughing, "do you have any siblings?"

"Uhh... well I have two younger sisters and a brother but when my mum left my dad she took them with her and left me with dad..."

"Oh..." he said shocked, unsure how to respond, "well I uhh have two younger brothers and a sister...., umm I'm sorry about you're mum and siblings leaving...."

"It's uhh okay. It doesn't really matter anymore...."

Tyler quickly thinks of something to do instead of sitting in awkward silence,"come on, I wanna show you the garage!" Tyler says whilst dragging me out the room, "I think you'll like it."
