Tyler's POV

"And this is where you'll sleep!" My mum says to Josh whilst laying a spare blanket on the blow up mattress.

"Thanks Mrs. Joseph, it means a lot," Josh says happily.

"Oh it's okay dear, you can stay as long as you want."

When my mum finally left the room, Josh and I started talking, "thanks so much Ty," he says for the hundredth time.

"No problem mate. You'll be safe here, I couldn't just let you stay with your dad."

"So what do you wanna do?" He asks.

"Let's go down to the basement!" I shout, grabbing Josh and dragging him downstairs, "we can play some music!"

When we get there Josh asks, "so are we seriously gonna start a band or...?"

"OH YEAHHH! We totally need to! Let's think of some lyrics!" I shout enthusiastically.

For hours we prance about my basement blurting out random lyrics and song ideas, eventually we come up with most of a song.

"Yes!" Josh shouts triumphantly, "Isle of Flightless Birds, by  Tyler Joseph and Joshua Dun!"

"Yup! But we need to come up with better names! Or a band name!"

"Hmmm I guess we do... how about house of heroes? It sounds pretty cool!"

"Yeah it does but I'd rather have something meaningful. Hey! Have you been reading that play in English um.. what's it calle-"

"All my sons?" Josh asks

"Yes! That one! Well I think our band should be called 'Twenty One Pilots'"

"But there's only two of us..."

"Yeah but remember 21 pilots died in the play," I say trying to jog his memory.

"Ohhhh yeahhh! Yeah we shou.... wait, how is that meaningful?" He asks confused.

" Well the play is about a man who must decide what is best for his family after knowingly sending out faulty airplane parts for the good of his business and causing the death of twenty-one pilots during World War II."

"Yeah....?" He says, wanting to know what I am getting at.

"Well the story's theme is of moral dilemma and choosing between the easy and the right decision," I explain, "there will constantly be decisions coming our way and crossroads and our paths and where we're going to go and what we're going to do. Having the band name mean something that reminds us that sometimes the right decision may not be the decision that benefits you right now, it may be the harder decision, it might be the decision that takes more work. The right decision is ultimately worth it, no matter when the reward is. It's something we could live by as a band and as individuals, it's nice to have a band name to remind us of that."

"Wow Ty. Of course," Josh whispers, slightly amazed, "you truly have a beautiful brain," he chuckled.

"Thanks?" I say, blushing slightly, "there's a lot going on in there."
