Josh's POV

"Bye Tyler," I shout to him as he crosses the road, I'd actually just had a great day. At my old school I didn't really have a proper friend, I'm so happy I've met Tyler.

I slowly walk home, it's only round the corner but I'm determined to take as long as possible to get there, I live with my dad and he.... can be a bit horrible sometimes.

I eventually get there, I try to open the door quietly so my dad can't hear but when I open the door he's right there.

"Where have you been? School finished half an hour ago!" He shouts at me angrily, I didn't think he would realise.

"Nowhere... I just got a bit lost walking home," I whisper, trying to think of a excuse.

"Got lost? Got lost! How? All you have to do is cross one road!" He shouts, his eyes staring into my soul,"were you with someone? Were you up to no good?"

"No dad!"

"Don't lie! Go to your room and don't come out until you are going to tell me the truth!

I run up into my room, relieved that that's all he did. I dump my bag on the floor and flop onto my bed and pull out my phone. I have a text from Tyler.

Tyler: Hey Josh, I was thinking that you could maybe come round to mine to play some video games with me, my parents are going out and my siblings all have their own plans.

Josh: That sounds great! But my dad probably won't let me...

Tyler: Can't you just sneak out? I do it all the time and my parents don't notice. I've been going to Taco Bell every Wednesday at 7 for about a year now 😂 They still haven't realised

Josh: Haha 😂 okay, what time and where do you live?

Tyler: my mum is letting me borrow her car, I'll pick you up, just tell me where you live.

I can't believe I'm actually doing this, I know my dad will find out but I don't care anymore! I want to have an amazing night with my new friend Tyler.

I try to do some of my homework but I can't stop thinking about what I'm going to be doing. How am I supposed to sneak out the house without him realising straight away? Whatever, I can figure that out later.

At 6 o'clock my phone buzzes

Tyler: I'm outside, do you think you can climb out your window?

Josh: Umm... I can try?

I walk up to my window and open it as far as it'll go, I can definitely get out but getting down is going to be tricky.

Tyler gets out of his car and comes over to try and help, "if you fall I'll catch you," he shouts, trying not to laugh, "just shimmy down that pipe or something."

I climb out through true window and try to grab the pipe. Then I swing my legs round and shimmy down.

When I'm about 3 metres from the ground I lose my grip and fall back, landing on Tyler.

"Whoops, sorry," I whisper, we both lie there laughing for a few minutes.

"Come on, let's go before your dad realises you've gone."
