Chapter 14

Tyler's POV

"Tyler?" Someone whispers.

"W-what?" I stutter, trying to get my eyes to focus, but I was surrounded by bright lights, "where am I?"

"Tyler, thank God you're okay! You fell down the ladder to your attic, knocked yourself out," someone says.

Finally my eyes focus on the room, my head pounding. I was in a hospital bed, Josh sat on a chair next to me. He was wearing a shirt soaked in blood, his face was blotchy.

"Ha you're a mess," I scoff.

"Speak for yourself!" He chuckles, "thankfully you're okay, you just needed some stitches."

"What's up with your shirt?"

"Oh yeah, I used it to try and stop you bleeding. I didn't have any time to change."

"Wow, thanks Josh..." he really cared about me.

"The doctors said that your head has got some severe bruises but they'll heal over time. Also your parents are on their way, as soon as they get here you're allowed to leave."

"Awesome, I can't wait for them to meet you!"

"Yeah... I think I should go soon, they'll want to have some alone time with you, they wouldn't want me getting in the way." He says looking upset.

"No! They'd love to meet you, please don't go!" I plead, "Where'd you go anyways?"

"Home..."

"No Josh! Please, I need you. I want you to be safe. Plus I found a blowup mattress for you!" I said through a chuckle.

"Haha, I guess I have to stay now!"

A couple minutes later my parents arrive, my mum rushes up to me screaming, being overly dramatic as usual.

"TYLER! TYLER! OH MY GOSH WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU OKAY? ARE YOU DYING? OH LORD WHY? HE'S SO YOUNG!" She screams, rushing to my side.

"Mum. Mum! Shhhh, I'm fine. I just cut my head that's all, thankfully Josh was there to call an ambulance."

She turns to Josh and wraps her arms around him, squashing him in a huge hug, " thank you Josh! You angel! You saved my baby boy!"

"It really wasn't anything ma'am, I just called an ambulance," Josh chuckles.

"Well it looks like you did a lot more than just that!" She says indicating his drenched shirt.

He blushes slightly then chuckles.

"So, Josh, is you dad coming here to pick you up or do you need a lift?" She asks.

"Oh it's fine I can jus-"

"No!" I butt in, "I mean... you said your dad was on a work trip somewhere for a couple weeks, you can come stay with us until he comes back!"

"I don't want to intrude..." he trails off.

"Oh it's fine honey, we don't want you all by yourself!" Says my mum, thankfully.
