-Morning-
*Erizel's POV*
"Shade, we need to talk," I said, leaning against a door frame.
"Sure, what's up?" he questioned me.
"C'mon," I said, walking up to him, grabbing his wrist, and pulling him into the other room.
I subtly peered out the door way at Gabriel and Ember sitting with their heads together, talking secretively.
"What's on your mind?" Shade asked.
"How do you feel about Gabriel?" I asked carefully.
"Well he seems alright? A bit goody-two-shoes..." he said calmly, before asking accusingly, "Why? Do you like him?"
"Only as a friend silly! Don't get your panties in a bunch! I'm asking for Ember, and for you I guess?"
"Why for me?"
"Well I can practically feel the love rolling off of those two. Even if they don't know it, I can see it. I have a feeling they may have complimentary souls, which is interesting, all considering." I responded.
"What are you talking about Erizel? They JUST met. How can they be in love?" Shade exclaimed.
"I just explained! They. Are. Probably. Complimentary. Souls." I stated calmly.
"Well what in the name of Satan does that mean?"
"You honestly don't know?" I asked, surprised.
"No, why should I?"
"Sorry, I thought it was common knowledge. But complimentary souls are souls which are practically made for each other. They just...match."
"Oh... and you think they're this soul thing-a-ma-whacha-call-it?"
"Indeed I do. How else can you explain how well they get along? Gabriel is one of God's best angels and Ember is one of Lucy's best demons yet there they are, sitting and chatting like nothing," I motioned to the other room.
"Now that I think of it that makes sense. But Gabriel and I get along too." Shade said, puzzled.
"That's because you're her twin brother! You two have very similar souls. And how would it be good if you killed your sister's complimentary soul?" I explained.
"That makes sense."
"Yup! So again, what do you think about Gabriel?" I questioned.
"I guess I couldn't ask for a better guy for my sister, being that he's an angel and all. Demon guys are sleaze bags and she deserves better," Shade chuckled.
"Oh goodie!" I cheered. I could finally try to set those two up!
"I sometimes wish Ember wasn't born into this.
She's too kind to be a demon. I mean she's never even killed anyone!"
"I understand. Maybe I can do something about this..." I mumbled.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned me.
"Nothing nothing," I brushed off his question.
I have to look into that further, maybe she doesn't have to stay dark...
"I'm going to go think for a bit," I muttered before walking about of the house, leaving Shade behind.
"Well that was odd," I heard Shade say as I left.
I sprinted into the nearby forest. I had some thinking and experimenting to do.
*Ember's POV*
I glanced up from my conversation with Gabriel to see Shade following Erizel into the other room.
"I wonder what those two are up to," I murmured to Gabriel.
"Who knows," Gabriel answered.
"Maybe they'll finally admit their feelings to each other!" We both said at the same time, laughing.
"I really doubt it though," Gabriel said.
"Yeah me too, I mean Shade will never admit his feelings willingly." I grouched.
"How come?" Gabriel asked.
"Shade thinks he isn't good enough for her. If you think about it, Erizel is the heir to the Heavenly and Hellish throne. It'd be like telling royalty, it is like telling royalty, that you love them. She is a princess. She is 'the' princess. She is the single most powerful being in the entire universe. And to make it worse he's treated her awfully in the past. He's afraid of her rejecting him. Wouldn't you be after all that? After all he's done, to her and others, what else can he expect?"
"What do you mean 'her and others'? What others? What has he done?"
"Shade... Shade is Lucy's right hand. Do you know what that means? He has to do what she says, and she wants a lot of people dead. And I've never actually done anything bad! Shade did it for me because he didn't want me to go through it, to deal with it, the aftermath, the pain. Shade has killed hundreds and hundreds of people." I said sadly.
"Well I can't condone that but have you ever wondered why this town, that once had over seven hundred inhabitants, is now deserted?" Gabriel asked me.
"Well uh now that I think about it, what happened?"
"Erizel killed them all." He stated coldly.
"How?!?!" I exclaimed.
"I don't know. She never told me, I never asked. You'd have to ask her if you want to know."
"I can't believe it..." I murmured.
"I couldn't either. But see they're not so different."
"True. Now we need to get them together! We have to find a way to get them to admit how they feel to each other!" I exclaimed.
Yes we do. I heard Erizel leave earlier so I'm going to go find her. We have some things to discuss," Gabriel excused himself as he headed out the door.
"Kay bye!" I called after him.
I've got some thinking and some work to do I thought, hearing the grandfather clock in the other room chime twelve times.
