*Gabriel's POV*
I thought about what Ember and I had just talked about as I flew though the sky. The sound of air rushing past my ears made it easy to tune out any other noises from the world outside my own thoughts.
I wasn't surprised to hear that Shade had killed a lot of people, but it did surprise me that Ember hadn't killed any. One would think that as one of Lucy's best demons she would have countless innocents' deaths on her hands but she had none. That amazed me.
I looked down suddenly, seeing a flash of light. Directly below me I saw Erizel sitting in the middle of some trees that somehow managed to form a perfect circle. She looked to be meditating.
"Erizel?" I called down.
"What?" she shouted up at me, keeping her eyes closed and not moving.
"Can we talk?" I asked.
"We are now you know but if it's so important I guess you can come down here and we can chat," she answered.
I floated gently to the ground, stopping in front of Erizel.
"Well what's up?" she questioned me.
"Want to open your eyes while we talk?" I wondered.
"Nope!" she said brightly.
"Uh okay then... Well I need to talk to you about Shade."
"What about Shade? And I need to talk to you about Ember!" she said, putting an odd emphasis on 'you'.
"What about Ember?"
"Nope! I asked first so I'll tell you after you explain about Shade." She giggled.
"Okay fine. You care about Shade, right?"
"Yeah, but he would never want to have anything to do with me. I'm too... not good for him. I'm just not the right type of person for him, you know? I'm too messed up, I've done too much." She said sadly.
"Why do you think that?"
"The town." She answered despairingly.
"You did something to all the people in it, right?"
"I... I can't talk about it. If I do it'll become real."
"Erizel, it is real." I stated.
"I'll only tell one person and that one person isn't you," she said, opening in her eyes and looking at me sharply.
I gasped out loud when I saw her eyes glowing, one black and one silvery white.
"It's time for you to go. I have things to do and things to think about. Leave now," she commanded, flicking her hand at me and sending me flying into the air.
I slowly flew away, looking back at Erizel and listening to a string of weird words she sung out.
*Shade's POV*
"Yo sis!" I shouted into the other room, "We need to talk!"
"Yeah I agree!" She shouted back to me.
"Well then come in here stupid!" I called.
"No you come in here and don't call me stupid, stupid!" she yelled back.
"Oh fine I'm coming! But just because I'd rather sit on the couch than stand in a kitchen..." I muttered as I walked into the next room over.
I walked glanced over and saw Ember on the couch and sat down on the big, comfortable chair adjacent to the couch.
"So what's up?" She asked me as I settled into my seat.
"If he hurts you let me know. I'll hurt him." I stated.
"If who hurts me?" She asked curiously.
"You know who. Gabriel." I said coolly.
"What?! Why would he hurt me?" She almost shrieked.
"Because you're into him and he's into you and guys are heart breakers!" I whined to her, "I don't want him to hurt you."
"He's not going to. Even if he tries to hurt me, I'll just destroy him." She snapped.
"Oh come on Ember, you're head over heels in love with him and you couldn't harm a fly. We both know... you would have been better off born an angel." I said slowly.
I realized that I needed to talk to Erizel soon.
"I'm going out tonight. I'll be back by morning," I said as I ran out the door.
I needed to look into something.
