By the time I was being woken up, I felt like a bus had ran me over. I could hear my heart beat ringing through my ears. It was safe to say that the relaxed feeling of tranquility that I was experiencing a few minutes...hours ago? They were definitely gone and, as if a cruel joke was being played on me, had been replaced with an ill, achey feeling of fatigue.

When I groggily squinted through my tired eyes, my vision was blurred at first and I could just about make out the shape of a pixelated figure leaning over me. I blinked and thankfully my vision gradually began to clear.

"Cas? What the hell happened?"

Feeling overwhelmed and confused, I looked up and gazed at Dean with immediate relief. He was the only person I wanted to see right now.

"Dean?" I breathed out and started coughing heavily.

My throat felt like it was on fire and, every time I swallowed, it resembled a horrible strangling feeling. Dean helped me sit up, a hand placed firmly on my back, and knelt down beside me.

"Did Lucifer...?" Dean paused, realising that I wasn't physically injured in any way, "Why are your eyes so red?"

I didn't even have the mental capacity to respond. I simply stared around with bafflement at my surroundings. All the colours and black dots had resulted in a dramatic disappearance.

"I'll go and get someone", Dean told me hurriedly, preparing to stand up.

"No, don't!" I quickly stopped him, grabbing his arm.

"Why?"

Groaning irritably, I pressed a hand against my forehead and squeezed my eyes shut. Everything seemed so bright and blinding. The sunlight appeared ten times lighter which pierced right through my dry eyes.

"I did something really stupid", I admitted, feeling an unhealthy sense of self-hatred, "I didn't intend for this to happen again. It wasn't supposed to happen again..."

"Cas, slow down", Dean said calmly, "What did you do?"

He had no idea. His expression was relaxed and understanding. There was absolutely no chance that he would understand my reasoning once I had told him.

"I..." I paused, looking down at the ground guiltily, before simply forcing myself to say it, "I smoked Marijuana. A lot of it".

Everything fell silent all of a sudden and I couldn't even bring myself to look at Dean. His hand automatically let go of my back and I had to steady myself to sit up properly. When I finally looked at him, that "understanding" expression had completely vanished and turned into a judging look of disbelief.

"You stupid son of a bitch", Dean spoke through gritted teeth.

"Dean, I-"

"Shut the fuck up", Dean interrupted me, dismissing my desperate chance of an explanation, "I helped you every damn time Lucifer hurt you in the slightest. And now you wanna do this to yourself? You actually made me worried for you".

"You don't know what it's like", I tried to reason with him.

"Bullshit! Don't act like you've done nothing wrong".

"I never said that", I told him earnestly, "Please...just listen to me".

Dean shook his head with a cold, hopeless smile.

"Bye, Castiel".

I watched him walk away, out of my sight. The only noise that filled the tense silence was the sound of his shoes hitting against the ground, abandoning me without a second thought. Sighing with both disappointment and guilt, I fell back against the ground and closed my eyes again.
