Things were oddly quiet without Lucifer around for two nights. To think I would've gone as far to say I actually missed the bastard who used to make my nightmares seem like good dreams was just crazy. In fact, even Dean seemed bored without someone to have meaningless arguments with. Gabriel, however, was trying his absolute best to convince us that he was elated about the fact that his brother was trapped in the SHU. But Dean and I both knew that he secretly missed him.

At our usual table in the canteen, Gabriel was going on and on and on about his "happiness". It was beginning to get tiring, especially as it was so obviously a bluff.

"Two whole nights without that psychopath", Gabriel smiled peacefully to himself.

"Yeah, we know", Dean muttered and I smirked at his annoyance.

"I am so relaxed without him", Gabriel continued, staring down at his uneaten breakfast, "I've never felt happier".

"Oh, really?" I cocked an eyebrow questioningly.

"Uh-huh", Gabriel confirmed unconvincingly.

I allowed my eyes to drift down at his full plate of toast and his spare chocolate bar placed right next to it. Not one bite had been taken out of the toast, nor had the chocolate bar even been opened.

"Hm", I nodded to myself, squinting at him knowingly, "Then tell me, Gabriel. Why aren't you eating your food? I mean, if I know you well enough-and I think I do-then I know that you would never skip a meal unless something was bothering you".

Biting his lip, Gabriel looked down at his food and then back at me. He erased the nervous expression from his face and replaced it with a cocky grin as if he was about to prove me wrong.

"I'm not skipping a meal", Gabriel stated matter-of-factly.

Jokingly, he teased the edge of the triangular-cut toast with the tip of his tongue and humorously moaned with mock-pleasure. He raised his eyebrows when he caught Dean and I watching with disgust and confusion.

"I mean, I know you like to watch Novak, but this is a whole new level of invasion of privacy", Gabriel smirked, shielding his lips and toast away from our view, "Do you mind leaving us alone?"

"Alright enough", Dean rolled his eyes, "That's so you-using humour as a defence mechanism".

"That's an almighty big word for you", Gabriel slyly remarked.

"Actually it's two words", Dean gave him a proud 'touchê' expression.

"So my boyfriend is childish and my best friend is a moron", I sighed to myself sarcastically, "I really am screwed".

Gabriel's eyes snapped towards mine with surprise. I knew another joke was coming along by the twitch of his uncontrollable smirk that he was trying to hide.

"Novak, I know we're close but you need to actually ask me before you go around telling people I'm your boyfriend", Gabriel said.

"Ha ha", Dean flatly replied, glaring at him, "Hilarious".

Things fell silent for a few seconds and I began to enjoy the small moment of peace around Gabriel.

"Oh, I just remembered that Loserfer is in the SHU-and I'm happy again!" Gabriel beamed.

"And we're leaving", Dean grabbed my hand and stood up, taking me with him to the exit door of the canteen.

Dean swivelled me around once we reached the exit, placing his hands beside my head against the wall. He leaned in closely.

"Winchester! And the other one, I forget the name", a voice snapped at us, "Get your disgusting hands off of each other".
