She couldn't do it. She'd try but it'd be no doubt useless. She hadn't handled a gun since as she was ten. Her father used to teach her, they would shoot targets for hours. It started with water guns, then small guns with rubber bullets and then on to small actual pistols. He would teach Alcina about guns: loading one, how to shoot. As a ten year old she could load a gun under five seconds, they were like toys to her. Her aim was almost as good as his for a ten year old.
But once he died, she forgot all about them.
And here she was in a car with some freaks shooting at her with a mafia boss who had just handed her a gun and said 'Here shoot them and cause some damage'.
Heck, the only damage to be caused was her getting injured."What?" She asked stupidly.
"Stick your head out and shoot them suckers!" He shouted as he swerved through traffic.
"OK, I can do this. You can do this Alcina. Just stick your head out and shoot" she inhaled heavily.
She stuck her head out as Leonardo had said and was almost thrown out by the force of the wind. She steadied her aim and shot at the suv closest to her. She missed the tire a bit and was impressed with herself.
She calculated and steadied her aim again. If only she could get a tire.
Bang.
And she did. The tire popped causing the vehicle to loose control. The driver swerved left and right until the vehicle sumersaulted to the side of the road.
"Yeah baby!" She screamed in victory as the suv began to smoke.
"Nice" Leonardo said as proud as a hen watching her chick do something rewarding. Before she could blink twice, a wave of bullets from the other suv was sent their way. She sat back into the car as fast as she could and the bullets whizzed past them.
"Oh my goodness, Alcina!"
" What?" She asked not seeing a reason for all this screaming."You're hit" he stated struggling to focus on the road.
She was shot? But she didn't feel any different."It just brushed your right arm". She looked down to her arm now to look at the gash just below her shoulder. Looking at it somewhat incited pain.
"Ah" she said holding the arm gingerly."Don't look at it" he tsked. "Look, why don't you just drive. I'll take them out" he glanced at the side mirrors.
OK, this was going too fast. She had never taken a driving test all her life and here he was making her do stuff. All she knew was that you turn on the ignition, then there's an acceleration and brake pedal and a steering wheel.
"We'll switch places come on"
Alcina inhaled and prepared herself mentally for the most awkward two minutes of her life. The whole time was full of awkward positions and situations between them. It left her blushing, red as a tomato. They almost died three times as the car swerved out of position severally.
"Alright, steady the car and give me clear shots" he said before sticking his head out just like she had. He began shooting.
Alcina was once again proud of herself. She was doing something for the first time and was doing good so far.
Then she had an idea. A dangerously risky one at that. There were three lanes and they were in the middle lane. On either side of them, were two cars. Each a few meters ahead. In front of Leo's car was another, farther ahead than the two on the other two lanes. The tailgaters were hot on their trail.
If she overtook the car on her left at just the right speed and moment, she'd have the suv trapped in the middle. It was foolproof.
"I have a plan" she said suddenly. Leonardo raised his eyebrows at her. As if knowing the plan, he said.
