Here's to everyone who's been with the book from day one. 😙🍷. I'll drink to that any day.
If you haven't followed me please do and even if it's just this once, please vote on the chapter.
Here it goes.

Alcina stepped out of the suv in the most dramatic way she could. Placing her right leg on the asphalt first and then the left, the heels she wore did a lot for her little show. Once out, she flipped her hair over her shoulder and turned to look at Leonardo who was waiting patiently on the other side of the car.

She sighed as she stared at the house she'd spent most of her life in. Today was the day she claimed back possession of her father's properties and she was going to slay doing it. Alcina smiled at Leonardo as he came to take her hand. There was something about Leonardo's outfit that made him seem more attractive. Maybe it was the suit jacket or his sleek down hair or the open buttons at the top of the white shirt he was wearing. She guessed he was also here to slay.

Flanked by Leonardo, two of his lawyers and three guards, she walked up to her step mother's house with a confident stride. She'd been dreaming of this day for as long as she could remember and it was finally here.
Alcina knocked on the door and stepped back as they waited.

Soon, they heard voices behind the door. She knocked again. Jane, one of the twins opened the door with the most fake of all smiles.

"Oh, hello Alcina. What brings you here?" Jane asked.

"Is your mother home?" Alcina asked trying to look past the door.

"Uh, no. No she is not. So you have to come back later."

"Well let us in, our lawyers want to have a look around the house," Alcina said.

"Oh, there she is. It looks like she's back but she's terribly ill," Jane said as they walked in.

"This should be amusing,"Alcina whispered to Leonardo. The guards with them had gone to fetch Alcina's property and belongings from her old room.
Sure enough, in the living room her step mom was in a bundle of blankets. Alcina raised a brow.

"Oh, Alcina," Her stepmother, Rachael said. "How nice of you to visit. Sorry I have a cold." She sneezed and sniffed. But Alcina could see past her little act.

"Well that's a pity," Alcina said as she invited herself to sit. "I believe you know why I am here. But I'll let the lawyers do the talking."

Bryan, the first lawyer cleared his throat. "Well Mrs Rachael..."

"Miss. Miss Rachael," Rachael interrupted him.

"Miss Rachael, you are fully aware of the fact that your custody and guardianship of Alcina Bianchi and all properties in her name including those in the will, whether monetary or not can be withdrawn when she turns 18, if she so desires. This also gives her the right to move out and start living independently."

Alcina watched Rachael's expressions, the most satisfying thing she'd seen in a while. Jane and Janice had come to join the party.

"On that note, we'd like you to present all the documents for every property. The will, this house, the house in Italy and the bank documents," the other lawyer, James added.

Reluctantly, Rachael stood up and went in to get the papers, while the twins kept glaring at Alcina.
They didn't know the gravity of what was about to befall them, Alcina mused.

Rachael dropped the documents on the table and Bryan placed them in his briefcase.
"You have an ultimatum of 48 hours to move out of this house, or you will be forced out by my client."

Alcina stood up to leave and so did Leonardo. But as she turned to go, Rachael grabbed her wrist.
"Please Alcina, we don't have anywhere else to go. I'm really sorry for how I..."

Alcina did not let her finish as she yanked her hand free from Rachael's grip.
"How dare you? After everything you did to me and put me through. Don't ever touch me again," Alcina seethed.

"I wasn't really surprised to see you as Giovanni's lap dog, I always guessed you had a hand in my father's murder. You should be ashamed of yourself. He loved you just as much as he loved my mother. He cared for you and got you anything you wanted. But how did you repay him? You helped in his murder and turned his daughter to your maid. I'm giving you 2 months. 60 days. I don't want to see a trace of your miserable self by then or you'd wish you never knew me."

Struggling to keep her tears at bay, she turned to Leonardo, "Let's go."

One look at her and Leonardo didn't need to be told twice. Once inside the car, the dam broke and tears poured freely.

"It's okay, Alcina. That was a very brave thing you did. How do you feel now that it's off your chest?" Leonardo asked. She raised up her head from his neck and he kissed her forehead.

"I feel horrible. Relieved but horrible," Alcina said, scowling at the stain on the collar of his shirt. "I'm such a big baby. I stained your shirt."

He shrugged. "Don't worry about it. We're going home anyway."

She sighed as she sat down beside him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Let's go Mark," Leonardo said to the driver.

"So what do you want to do when we get home?" He asked her.

"I don't know, lie in bed with you all day," she replied.

Leonardo smiled. "I like the sound of that. We'll see what happens under the covers."

Alcina blushed. "Or maybe just some pillow talk."

"Yeah, maybe," he replied, sounding a little disappointed.

She smiled at his pout and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. But knowing Leonardo, he took advantage of it and deepened it, holding her tighter.

Alcina looked up at his blue eyes.
"I love you Alcina," Leonardo said truthfully.

"Yeah, I know". Alcina said.

"Aren't you going to say it back?" He asked her.

She shook her head. "I don't need to say it. Because I'll show it everyday."
