Can't stop listening to Shape of You and Bambi. I'm hooked.

Alcina woke up in the middle of the night, to a knock on her door. Panic set in as the knocking became persistent. She tiptoed to the door and whispered.

"Who's there?"

"Open up. I have a phone call for you". A voice responded. Against her better judgement, she unlocked the door and a dark haired man slipped inside.

"It's Leonardo". The man said as soon as she shut the door.

Her eyes widened. " You're the insider? I thought it was the waiter?"

"That was just a distraction". He said giving her the phone in his hand.
Alcina collected it with shaky hands and put it to her ear.

"H..hello?". She spoke as she anticipated his deep voice on the other end.

"Alcina? Alcina how are you? Are you okay? Are you hurt?". She swooned at his voice.

"I'm fine". She croaked and glanced at the brunette who seemed interested in a worn out poster on the wall. She never asked for his name.

"I saw pictures Alcina. He had his arms around you. I tore them, are you sure you're okay?". Leonardo asked again, affection coating every word.

"I..yeah I'm fine. What did he ask you for as a substitute for me?". Alcina asked biting her lip. She could almost imagine him pacing his office.

"The bastard. Asked for half of the empire and all investments. If he thinks I've given up that easily, he's got it all wrong. We've been plotting on how to get you out, Julian says it can't be done without any bloodshed"

"Right. About Julian. I don't think you should trust him. He's been talking with Giovanni and plotting to become the next godfather after they take you down. It wouldn't be wise to tell him all your plans. Julian and Giovanni already have a scheme to take you by surprise when you come to get me, they talked about it in my presence a few days ago". Alcina said and inhaled sharply as she finished.

"Is that so?". Leonardo asked sounding amused.

"You knew?"

"Of course I do. What do you think Luke has been doing?". He replies and she guessed Luke was the brunette.

"Oh"

"There's been a change of plans, which Julian isn't aware of. Everyone in the family knows he's the traitor but they're keeping quiet. We'll challenge him tomorrow". After a pause, he continues. "I just want to keep you safe Alcina. I've failed at that already, I shouldn't have let you leave the club that night. I'm so sorry. I was so frustrated, I'll do everything I can to get you out of there"

"How do I know when you put your plan into action?". Alcina asked.

"Trust me, you'll know". Leonardo said. "I should leave you to sleep. Goodnight my dear".

"Good night Leo". Alcina had an urge to say I love you but they needed to take things slow.

She cut the call and handed the phone back to Luke. He nodded at her as he closed the door. The weight of the loneliness came crashing down on her once again as she crawled under covers. Alcina went to sleep thinking about a particular pair of blue eyes.

Two days later, Alcina sat on the bed, lost in a romance novel she'd asked Giovanni for. Apparently, he had a heart. The only thing keeping her sane was this book and the feeling of hope the call with Leonardo had given her. She had etched his voice onto every bit of her memory. So she sat waiting for whatever she was supposed to be waiting for. He'd been cryptic about his plan only telling her to expect a sign.

Anything could be a sign. A bikini clad monkey on a tricycle doing a drive-by past the gate could be a sign. A nude supermodel doing flips on the property would be a proper distraction or maybe an army of amazons would do the trick.

With a sigh she folded the page she was reading and dropped the book on the bed. Alcina walked to the window and stared out at the sunny sky. She was a few floors above the ground so the buildings were looking pretty small. If she angled her head a little bit to the left, she would have pretty good view of the entrance to the property.

Just as she was about to turn her head back, she caught something heading towards the gate. It seemed like a car and it was going at break neck speed. It rammed into the gate with a crash and soon everyone was rushing out to investigate the mess.

If that wasn't a distraction, Alcina didn't know what else it was. It was like the trojan horse except it was a car and it crashed into the gate and the attackers were entering through a different location.
