A War

Lapis pov...

I slowly got up. The dream still fresh in my mind as I went and brushed my teeth.

As I finished changing I noticed that tears were still running down my eyes.

I look at the calender.

So it's been 5 years since that day.

I sigh and sit down at the couch.

As I stared at the picture of me and my mother, we were mountain climbing. It felt so long ago yet it feels like it happened yesterday.

After a few moments of silence I hear a knock on the door.

As I open it up I look at who it is.

"What are you doing here!!?" I said but before I could react I was already out...

Peridot pov...

"So let me get this straight. YOU LET LAPIS, THE GIRL THAT YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO PROTECT, GET INTO A CAR WITH JASPER!!!!!!"

Bismuth yelled as I finished telling him what happened.

"Peridot Verde Doyle, this is by far the most stupid mistake you have ever made!!" Bismuth was stopping and I know why.

Being a FBI detective he is used to getting orders followed...but not from me.

But that doesn't mean I'm not angry either.

"YOU THINK I WANTED TO LET HER GET IN THE CAR??! THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO!!" I screamed.

We fell silent.

5 minutes later...

Bismuth and I were sitting at the table and as I looked up at him he looked at me...and he started laughing.

Then he slowly looks at me and we both start laughing.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...HA...welp I guess we can't do anything now." Bismuth said with defeat.

I grin and remark, "yeah... I guess we can't do anything...although it would be the first time a girl rejected me."

Bismuth laughed, "Ha,yeah I guess."

The rest of the night was boring but to sum it altogether...there was beer movies and insults.

THE NEXT MORNING...

I woke up REALLY drowsy. I looked at me calender and it was a Saturday so I could sleep late.

I got up and changed then went into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

"Well...better go to Lapis's house to say sorry."I stated in a drowsy mood.

Probably cause I just woke up from a hangover...if it's possible to wake up at all from a hangover (without stress that is).

As I went outside to get into my car I slowly thought about Lapis's statement "you're just like Sherlock Holmes!!"

This hits me in a strange way.

Im nothing like Sherlock, I mean I do have deduction abilities like him but I'm definitely NOT like him...am I?

I shake my head. There's no use thinking about that now.

A FEW MINUTES LATER...

As I pulled into the driveway I have just now noticed how big the apartment complex was.

The owner must be really rich.

I thought as I slowly knocked on Lapis's door waiting for an answer.

Nothing.

I knock again.

Nothing.

Something was wrong.

Why isn't she answering?

Then I noticed something.

There's a smell of amnstetic in the air.
(Amnstetic is a liquid used to knock out patients in a surgery.)
But that's not what I'm worried about. I slowly start to look around.
The window to her room is lock. And her door is locked with a key...the key.

I quickly look at the key hole.

The key hole is a sergeant 105 which means it's a military type door. The key hole also has a chipped at the edges which means that the person who Broke in has terrifying strength...wait.

As I look at the door I see a glint of hair. As I look at the hair I noticed something. The hair wasn't yellow (like Jasper's)......it was blue.

I quickly start to kick the door open. As I finally get the door open, I open it to reveal a mess.

The tables were broken. The chairs were overturned and the the tv was broken.

There's something wrong.

There's a mess. Why would they leave a mess if they were after lapis?

Then it hit me.

They left this for me to find.

I quickly start to search the apartment.

It didn't take long for me to find a note hidden under the overturned couch.

If you want to get her back. Come to the Home world banking warehouse at 12 pm...alone.
If you don't. Your friend won't be around for her graduation.
You can say she might be...let go.
You've been warned.

The yellow lion...clearly Jasper.

So they want to fight a war do they?

Well then I geuss they just signed their death warrant.

And as I walk out of the apartment I look at Lapis's door which I had broken down.

I took out a peice of paper and wrote sorry...then I attached it to a bunch of 100 dollar bills and walked away.

I'm coming lapis.
