So called Betrayed

LAPIS POV...

"You probably don't know what this is." Moriarty said as he held up the picture of my mother.

I stared at him in shock and suspicion.

"It's a small world" moriarty stated as he put down the picture.

I was still confused. Thoughts were running through my mind as to how he could have obtained a picture of my mother.

Moriarty looked at me now with a fixture of contempt and amusement.

"I have a story for you..." he then said.

"Once apon a time... there were two secret agents....both, worked for a secret organization.... each had a code name....mine was moriarty.... and her' s was....lapis..."

The gears started running in my head.

Two secret agents.... My mother's code name was lapis? How?

While I was thinking, moriarty continued with his tale.

"Come one, we have to keep going!!"

She yelled at me as we escaped from the facility.

"There's a secret warehouse a block away from here! We can go there to heal your wounds!!"

She was always so caring of me...

Where ever we go she would always be there for me.

12 MINUTES LATER...

We opened the door to the warehouse, and the inside smelled or rotting urine.

She set me down on a crate and said, "lay here while I go look for some bandages!"

I did what she asked, and waited.....and waited.....and waited.

"Where is she?" I asked myself as I stood up to check if she was ok.

But, as I went to open the door it burst open with a BOOM!!!!!

I was instantly knocked back and almost instantly a rocking pain shot up my back.

I looked down at my bullet wound, it was bleeding.

I looked up at the once closed door to see a battalion of troops, and in stood....

"Lapis... what are you doing?" I asked as two guards ran and grabbed me.

"It's over moriarty.... we're taking you in....your days are over..."

MORIARTY finished his tale and looks at me with that same look of amusement.

"So is that it? You're doing all of this just cause my mother betrayed you?"

KLANG!!!!!

Moriarty slammed his hand on my shoulder.

"IT'S NOT BECAUSE OF THAT!!! NOT ONLY DID SHE BETRAY ME.....SHE DARED TO GIVE HER CHILD HER CODE NAME!!!!!"

He then got closer, and I could smell his minty breath as he whispered,

"you're simply just repaying your mother's punishment....that's all. Why else do you think we killed her?"

This instantly caught my attention.

"You didn't kill my mother.... She died from cancer!!!!"

Moriarty stared at me and smiled.

"Oh she died from cancer all right, in fact... She died from a very SPECIFIC
Cancer, one that can only be caught from the contact of a very rare poison."

My brain was trying to process all this.

But I lost my train of thought when moriarty stood up.

"Well....this has truly been a good experience for both of us hasn't it? I must be going."

And then moriarty walks away.

But Before he went out of sight I asked him one more question.

"WAIT!!! I have a question...."

Moriarty turned around.

"If you're doing this cause my mother betrayed you.....why is peridot involved?" I asked.

And to my surprise moriarty seemed shocked by the question.

"I have no clue...maybe she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.?"
And with that moriarty turned around to leave.

But, as he turned around the side of his coat flipped outwards....revealing a police badge underneath. But, it wasn't any normal badge....it was a captain's badge....

PERIDOT POV......

Oh no....

I thought as the guards called out to me.

Three I can easily take care of, but not without the risk of one of them calling in back up.

"Heeeey Jake how you doing?!" One of the guards said as they ran towards me.

Surprise and relief spread over me as I realized they were stupid as heck.

"We were looking for you man! It's lunch time!!" The second guard said.

The Name tag says harry, burly, and Zoe....huh.

"Yeah sorry guys I was so distracted I must've zoned out!!" I said as muffled as possible.

The three guards looked at each other and one of them spoke.

"Why do you sound so weird bruh....is it the helmet?"

I quickly nodded.

They all shrugged.

My luck must be good, because as soon as they shrugged, they turn around towards the elevator.

"Alright bruh! Let's go get lunch!!!"

One of them said.

And we all stepped into the elevator.

For a few moments everything was silent, and I took that moment to realize something.

The moment the elevator closed my thoughts moved at the speed of light.

I'm in an elevator with three armed guards, they all positioned themselves in front of me....blocking the exit.

My thoughts were confirmed as I saw one of them tighten his grip on his gun.

I sigh.... Why did I get caught up in this?

But to late,the elevator started moving, and they stiffened.

I crack my knuckles.

"Alright....one at a time? Or all together?"

And all three attacked........
