In my room, I take a shower, and change clothes. Finally, I feel fresh and clean! I started brushing my long hair when I heard ringing from my phone. It was a phone call from Bobby. I picked up right away, eager to talk to him due to the long time I haven't seen him since the hospital.
"Hello? Rose, you there?"
"Yeah, what's up? I haven't seen you in days. I miss you Kimbap!"
I whined to him as obvious I could make it.
"Aw, I know baby girl, and I'm so sorry. I've missed you too, and it's just that I've been busy with soccer team activity and stuff. In fact, I just found time right now to call you, but I'm in the middle of practice. The girls miss you, and they're not doing so good in their games since you left."
"Oh, well please tell them that I'll be back soon, and to not give up, because they can do it!"
"Haha, will do! You're so cute when you act all cheerful and leader-like." My cheeks turned red as soon as his words left his mouth, and there was a complete silence between both of us. I didn't know how to respond to his sudden comment.
Bobby finally broke the silence. "Anyways...I just wanted to check on how you're doing. Is your head fully recovered? Nothing serious right?"
I froze not knowing what to say to that. No I can't tell him now. I have to tell him in person. "Yeah I'm fine! Totally recovered, thanks for asking. Haha haha..." Fuck, that didn't sound too honest.
"You sure baby girl? Because you don't sound so sure." I could hear a hint of worry in his voice.
"Yeah I'm fine, no worries." I felt so guilty I've never lied to him before. Lord help me.
"Ok...um...Oh yeah Rose, I forgot to tell you. I left my blue sweater in your room, the last time we hung out at your house. Can you bring it when you get back?"
"Yeah sure, I-"
An unfamiliar voice cut me off as I was about to answer. "Mr. Kim, get over here right now we need you! No time to be talking to your girlfriend right now, boy. We got a game tomorrow!"
"She's not my girl friend coach! You just wish you had one! Haha!" Oh my god, he's such an idiot, I love him!
"First of all, how can I believe you, when you're talking into your phone all googly-eyed and madly blushing. And second, you do not talk to me like that Mister, even if it's possibly, maybe true!" The boys' coach spat back at Bobby. I laughed at his comment.
Bobby turns back to our conversation. "Ugh, I'm sorry Rose, I gotta go, but I'll see you at school, ok? Stay strong, baby girl. Your team's gonna need you! Ok bye."
He hung up before I could answer back, and I sunk down on my bed, wondering what I was gonna tell my team and Bobby. Fuck my life.
I found his blue sweater on my dresser and stared at it for a second. Then, I put it on, without hesitation.
I just love his sweaters. They're all so warm and cozy, I can't resist to wear them. I smelled his addicting scent stuck on the sweater, making me randomly squeal and hug myself like an idiot.
My mom called from downstairs, letting me know everything was ready.
I ran downstairs, and everything was perfect as I imagined it. I plopped down on the couch next to my mom, as she devoured popcorn with her eyes glued to the television.
"Thanks mom, you're amazing!" I yelled as I grabbed the hot tray in front of me consisting of my favorite foods, plus the noodles and soup, I asked for.
"Shut up, honey! You're interrupting my watching. What is this show called again? Show Me the Dummy 3? Whatever, it's bomb." I laughed at her.
"No, you idiot, Show Me the Money 3! And of course it's bomb, there's so many hot rappers!" I replied also sucked into the show.
"Oh what about him! He kinda looks like Jiwon-ah, and he's good at rap too." She turned her head and finally faced me for the first time since I returned downstairs. A creepy smile grew on her face as she studied me.
"That's not your sweater hon, but I think I know whose it is." She childishly squealed and I groaned, annoyed. "You know I read somewhere that teenage girls like to wear a guy's sweater when they like them." I groaned once again.
"Mom, where do you even get that stuff. That is so...not true!" I looked away from her stare, not willing for her to catch me instantly turning red.
Then I thought about it. Do I like Bobby? Nah, he's like a brother to me. That's never gonna happen.
My thoughts were interrupted by my mom, who was staring at me the whole time. "Oh right, honey, I forgot to tell you. You're starting school again tomorrow."
Ugh. My happiness is ruined. My mom and I spent the rest of the day binge watching SMTM until midnight.
I soon grew tired and slipped into deep slumber, so not ready to take on the adventures that would take place the next day. School.
A/N: eehhh. short chapter, but who cares? I'm starting to have second thoughts about this story.
