"Ahhhh! Look, Appa, look! Jiwon-ah and I made a castle!" I screamed, full of excitement.

"Ah, it's beautiful, honey! Good job, you two!" Appa said, ruffling me and Bobby's hair.

"Hey! Mister, they keep leaving me out!" Janelle whined. I hugged her softly to keep her from crying.

"No! Stop it, pabo! I love you both equally." I mused, cheerfully.

Janelle was already about to calm down, when Bobby yelled, "But I love Rosie more than anything!"

I shook my head at him furiously when tears began to fall down Janelle's little face. Then an angel appeared.

"What's wrong, my loves?"

We all looked up in excitement at the familiar voice. "Ms. Song!" I ran up to hug her tight.

After returning the hug, she looked over to Janelle with concern in her eyes. "What's wrong child?"

Janelle pouted and pointed to Bobby. "He's a meanie head!"

"Yah, you're the one who kept throwing sand in my eyes!"

Things got crazy between them, but eventually Ms. Song was able to settle things calmly with such love, no one was mad at anyone.

I smiled happily and took Ms. Song's hand, squeezing it tightly. Appa approached us, smiling widely.

"Rose, baby, who's your friend?" He mused, taking in her beauty.

I tilted my head in curiosity at this expression I did not understand at a young age, but soon enough left the subject. "This is my teacher, Ms. Song. Isn't she pretty, Appa?"

"Yes...I very much do agree with that, darling," he muttered not taking his eyes off of her.

She blushed and shook his hand firmly, a greeting only she could give. "Thank you, Mr. Park. Is it just you and your daughter here?"

"Yes, ma'am! Gotta take care of this little one, since her mother's been away."

"Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that, Mr. Park. I hope everything is all well being that it is just you two now."

"Oh, miss, that's not what I-"

"But I do admire you sacrificing much of your time for your own daughter's well being. She's an amazing student."

I gave my Appa a weird look. I was still young, but I knew something was off when he slyly agreed about mommy being gone.

I did not understand why, though. Omma was only gone with her sister that had accompanied her to get her monthly checkup on a baby that was supposed to be due in a couple months only. It was joy to know I'd be receiving a little brother between my mom and dad.

"Well, if you would like to stay a bit longer, I'd just love to hear more about my daughter, Ms. Song." I let go of my teacher's hand at that point and gave both adults a weird look, going along unnoticed.

She chuckled lightly. "Thank you Mr. Park, but I must get going. I don't think this is appropriate at the moment."

Appa leaned back and shook his head. "No, I totally understand. But please, call me Minjae. I go past the formalities."

"Well okay. It was nice meeting you...Minjae. And by the way, my name is Yeseul. Good day, sir." She waved goodbye to all of us and continued her way through the park on her own. Appa kept his stare on her until she was only a speck in the distance.
