2nd chance

"GET HIM!" The man yelled. Max came in the room "No need, he gave Esmeralda a second chance, so I give him a second chance, also if it won't for him, you people wouldn't be here Gerardo was the one who found this place."
"Who told you?" I asked. "Don't matter." he said smiling.
"Now everyone leave, we all, have a very big day tomorrow." he turned at start to laugh. I closed the door. "We are fucked." I heard  Maria. "We sure are." I said.
"Good morning everyone, open your all lazy ass eyes!" I woke up and heard max with a speaker. "Come on, Rise and shine!"
"Good morning, Max." I said.
"Why hello there Gerardo." max said.
"Okay everyone meet me at the yard!"he said. "I'm expecting to see you there Gerardo."
We all meet at the middle of the yard.
"Well, we all have something new, every single one of you, are going to have a job." Max said taking out papers. "Make a line to get you schedule for you new job. Oh and by the way, you only get two breaks a week." Max said giving out sheets.
I saw Salvador getting a sheet. Then he left, "You all start in a hour." max said. It was my turn to get a schedule. He didn't say anything he just smiled. So I took the paper and left. I looked at my schedule, Monday I have scavenge hunt, Tuesday I have gardening, Wednesday I have magazines, Thursday break, Friday I have gate security, Saturday I have clearing out walkers outside the gate, Sunday break.
I went to my house and grabbed a backpack ready for scavenge, I grabbed my bow, and my arrows, water, canned food, gun, a knife, and bandages. I went behind the gate ready to go, but it looked like I wasn't the only one, I saw Pete, alpha, salvador, and the guy that knocked down my door last night. Max came and put alpha in charge. They opened the door, "Wait before you leave, alpha if someone screws up and disobeys you, second chance, third they die. Good luck, ta-ta." he said waving. So on the mission we went.
"Gerardo, didn't you say there's a swamp meet close by?" Pete asked.
"Yeah, why?" I said. "We should head there." Pete said. "Fuck it, Gerardo I'm going to make you lead." alpha said patting my shoulder. "Follow me." I said. "Wait we can't just let this son of a bitch lead, he's just a stupid kid." The guy said. "What's your name?" Pete asked. "James." he said. "fuck off James."alpha said. "Proceed Gerardo."

"I'm going to tell max about this, you'll see." James said leaving. So off we went to the swamp meet.
Once we arrived we all saw walkers surrounding the place, "Yeah it's in that building."u said pointing. "How do we get in there?" Pete asked. "Dam." alpha said. I kept thinking how to do it. Then I got a idea. "We blend in." I said. "What?" Salvador said. "Remember Salvador, we cover ourselves into there smell so they won't notice we are humans, and they will think we are one of them." I said. "And remember what happened last time we did that?" Salvador want to argue. "What happened?" Pete asked. I told them everything. "Well that in the past. Now it's the future." Alpha said taking out a knife and killed the first Walker. "Hurry." Pete said. We all covered ourselves into there smell. Then we headed to the walkers.
"Don't make a sudden move." I said holding my knife. We were all walking and saw the walkers moaning. It was very disturbing to hear it so close, step by step it was like we were walking in their own graves, and I felt like they were all waiting for us. When I was walking I saw the handle of the door, the entrance of the swamp meet. "We are close." I said whispering. I looked behind and saw alpha happy, smiling, I found it very creepy. Then I bumped into one of the walkers in accident. I stood still like a statue, and didn't move at all. The Walker went to my face, and was discovering me. Then left. Thank goodness he didn't recognize me. So we continued, luckily we ended inside the place, we closed the door quietly and covered up the place.
"New what?" Salvador said. "There is a gun shop here, follow me." I lead them to hallways, then we found it. We grabbed a duffle bag. We pit all the things we might need to survive, and for the community.
BANG BANG We heard gunshots on the second floor. I took out my bow and got one arrow and I was ready to shoot. We went to the second floor. I looked at my right, there was nothing my left, clear. "Gerardo." alpha said looking straight at something. I looked and saw girl, my age, stabbing a Walker, she wouldn't stop. She kept stabbing, though the Walker was already dead. I put my things away. I took out my gun, checked for bullets. I went towards her, and they followed me.  I took out my hand to tap her. I did and she took out her gun pointing at me at my face. I did the same thing. "Who are you?" she asked. "Name,  Gerardo." I also introduce them to her. "Now, what is your name?" I asked her. "April, April Martinez." she said. She got up "I heard you guys going in." she said. "Why did you kept stabbing that walker?" Salvador asked. "Don't want to talk about it." April said. "Are you alone April?" I asked her. "No, I have a friend." she said. "Where is he?" I asked looking around. "He will be here soon." she said. "April, what us going on?" a boy came out, then I recognize his face, it was my cousin, Luis, he was the one who I last saw in my grandma's house. "Gerardo, I finally found you." he said "I came here to find you, then luck came." he said. "Where's everyone from the house?"
"They are gone, I was sleeping, I heard screams, and I tried to open the door, it was locked, I stayed there for a while and then the screams stopped, I escaped from the window, and I just saw blood, I thought I could come Jere and find you. So I did and here your are."
I told them everything, I invited her to our community. She agreed. So we went to our community. We escaped the same meet, no injury.
I told her she can sleep in my house, for now because I don't if we can take new members. But I want to careful, max saw us. "Why hello little girl, you name?" he said taking out his glasses on putting the on. "April." she said. "Gerardo, lets speak with you, private." max said. I followed him. I looked behind me and saw James grabbing April and Luis, dragging them. "Hey wait. What are you doing?" I said. "Don't you worry Gerardo they will be fine, for now." max said.
He led me to the pool and there were some walkers, still not clear, "Look, we started on the wrong foot. "So here's the deal, I need you to be my Co." he said. "Your Co?" I said. I thought for it for a while, if I become Co, I can do anything and hide things from him. But at the same time, I have to do his bidding, and do things I don't want to do. He took out his arm waiting for me to to shake in it. So I did the right thing, shook his hand.
