"Everyone start to rebuild the place. I was very happy for everything, but at the same time I'm sacred for all of your guys safely, I'm afraid that one day some army will come of any kind and destroy this place we made. I need to start protecting the people, my people, they are my responsibility. It's probably risky, but I have to. Pete, a ahold friend, he told me I make a great leader. I was scared that I might get people killed. I'm going to tell you thing, and it isn't a lie. I hate this world. It became hell here. Back then everyone was happy, everyone was fine, everyone was proud. But time and faith have other plans. I try to get away from darkness. It's isn't easy if you tell me. It's complicated. We all try to seek refuge just to be safe. The dead is keeping us away from that. No laws no rules for the world. But the only laws and rules we have is to just be safe. Where I am, orchard, I have rules. I don't like rules, but I have them for a reason. To keep my people safe from danger. From death. I honestly never killed a human, but I did killed the dead. It was difficult. I don't want to kill people. I told my friends before all this. 'You don't know me well, you don't know what I'm capable of doing. So watch your back.'
Everyone has to be that way to keep yourself safe from this place. This tragic world we now live in. I don't know all of your guys story, but in my opinion was probably horrific to get all of you guys here. So we need to start a practice to protect yourselves, I'm not going to be there for you, but you'll probably be alone, and you need to fight for that. That is why I made this place for survivors out there. And now I open this building for all of us." I said opening the gun rage.
"You could only use this place, but you must ask us first. And someone must have two over watches." I told them. King Ezekiel, we been trading with him since. We made good deals.
"Welcome back Gerardo." he said. "And I see you brought guests." he continued. "Thank you King. I came here for a trade. Three big boxes of food for some weapons." I asked. "Well, how much you ask?" he demanded. "I only ask for three medium boxes, guns are kinda rare to find now." I said to him. "Ah yes, they pretty rare to find these days now. You have a deal young citizen." he said. I turned around to tell everyone to go help. My group. Once they left I stayed. "King, may I talk to you?" I asked. "Yes you may." he said. We went outside for a walk. Shiva stayed in her cage.
"What is it you wanted to tell me." he said smiling at me. "I wanted to ask about the serpents." I told him. "Yeah, they still take half of our things." he told me. "We are running out."
"Well King, I'm here to help. You need anything you come to my place and I'll help. But did they ask anything about, I don't know, me?" I asked. "Nothing at all. But he did mention you, like he was your brother. He said that you were his brother. I knew you didnt want trouble from him so I said I didn't know you." he said. "Thank you very much Ezekiel, I really appreciate it." I said. "It's ready." Richard cane to tell us. "Thank you Richard. Well o guess you have to go now." he said. "See you around King." I said leaving.
We made it back to orchard. Once I finished uploading the boxes we brought. Luis my cousin, but he thinks to me like a brother so I didn't argue with it. I accepted it. "Can I talk to you, in private." he said. "Sure." I said. We went to his place. "I need a favor he Gerardo."
"Sure, what is it?"
The look on his face was worried or nervous. "I'm in love with someone." Luis said nervously. "You don't have to be scared about it. But who is it?" I asked putting my hand on his shoulder trying to cheer him up. "You known her for a long period of time." he said. I waited till he said her name. "Her name is Esmeralda." he said. I was shocked he liked Esmeralda, but I didn't judge. "That's great. Does she know?" I asked. "Not yet." he said. "The favor was it you can talk to her to see if she likes anyone."
I looked at the door and I saw a shadow, two feet. It stood still then went away. "Gerardo?"
"Sorry. But yeah I'll talk to her." I said getting up. "Thank you." he said still in the chair. Then I went to the door and left. Once I took a step Luis came out running to me. "Forget I'll tell her one day. I don't want her think I don't have the balls it say anything to her." he said. "I wasn't going to tell her. I was going too say if she likes anyone." I said in a weird way. "Sorry I'm just nervous." he said leaving.
So now I had to find Esmeralda. I walked around and on the way I stopped to see how people are doing on their jobs. I seriously couldn't find Esmeralda anywhere. I saw Andrey teaching the guys how to shoot. I was looking at the window. I actually saw everyone doing their job. This reminded me of the last place I was. With Max. Everyone had a job. It was odd for me, I didn't see Madison anywhere. But also I couldn't find Esmeralda. I went to the front gate to see if she is there. But there were a couple of walkers like seven of them. I went to clear them out, unfortunately I guess no one was doing there job. I went to kill them. When I was at the last Walker, I stopped and the corner of my eye I saw a figure standing behind the trees, but I was pretty sure he or she was wearing a gas mask. The Walker grabbed me, I was struggling to kill it, I grabbed my bow and stabbed it in the head. When I got up and to see the trees, it was gone. I went to its direction. I couldn't find him. When I was looking for him. I saw a tree, but it had a letter, it was a W written on the tree, but it was written with blood. I looked around. I went running back to the gates and went back in. I went to storage to get a snack. Once I went out. I saw people getting angry at somebody. I went to check it out and I saw a crowd of people surrounding Maria. "Hey what's happening?" I asked. "This women doesn't let us get some food for us. She has the key." Tony said arguing. "She probably wants us to die." Carlos responded.
"But you all had lunch, we need to save this food." I said. "We don't blame you Gerardo. It's her." Stephanie said pointing at Maria. "Gerardo help me out." she beg. "Okay everyone at their houses. Now." I said politely. "SCREW YOU ALL FUCKERS." jasmine yelled. Someone was leaving, but it was Marco and he was sticking the middle finger. While he left. "I apologize Gerardo." Maria said looking at the ground. "Don't be." I told her. "Well good night." Maria said leaving.
"Night." I said. Five minutes passed. Then I heard screaming. I went running, took my pistol. Again I saw another crowd but instead of fighting there was shock. I saw Carlos coming towards me with his hands in front of him, and he was shaking. He had so many blood on him and on his face. "Carlos what happened?" I asked him but he didn't answer, he started shaking more. "Go clean yourself." I said running to the crowd. I went to the crowd and in the middle. Oh my god. I said looking at the ground I was so shocked. Maria body was one the floor bleeding, and her head was cut off. "She's dead Gerardo. What do we do?" Melanie asked me looking at me.
