Chapter 11 ~ Lights Out

Zane's POV

"We meet again," Kai snickers, his evil blood red eyes stare at me.

I don't respond.

Kai's devilish smirk fades into a frown, his eyebrows narrow. He then charges at me with his sword high up in the air ready to slice me into bits and pieces. I doge his attack as his sword digs into the sand.

I reached for my shurikens behind my back, but I didn't want to hurt him. I knew he was still there, so I presumed to using my powers.

He dodges all my attacks swiftly still grinning evilly. He starts to come closer as I try to freeze him. He then sets a tall circle of fire around us so I can't escape as he approaches me and stops.

"Soon... it will all be mine," he whispers as he he raises his sword and my world goes dark.

"I think he's waking up," something whispered as I lifted my eyes up slowly.

It was an Obsidian Warrior talking to another warrior. They stood a little ways away from me guarding a door. I tried to move, but I couldn't. My wrists were locked to a metal chair. I tried to break free, but I couldn't. I gave up and just stared hard at the door, waiting for someone to come through.

After what seemed like an eternity, two figures came through the door as the two obsidian warriors held it opened. It was Kai and someone else. Someone I recognize, but couldn't put a finger on it.

It was Shade. Shade from the Tournament of Elements. But why was he here. My mind was lost in a jumble of thoughts as they approached to where I sat.

"By now, you have probably figured out I'm the one behind all of this, but if you're just hearing this now than it's already to late, my friend." Shade chuckled turning his back towards me.

"All I have to do is simply shutdown all the power in Ninjago," He said with a smirk.

"Ya, it's not that simple," I replied rolling my eyes.

"Oh, I know that. That's why you're here. My friend over here has told me sense you're a machine you can hack into the database and cut off all the power...." He continued. "And if you don't do as I say, I'll make sure of it that everyone you know and love will DIE." He said laughing.

I had to. It was the only way I would be able to get out of this mess. "Fine." I said coldly as the shackles on my wrists released me and the two obsidian warriors escorted me over to a hologram.

"Do it," Shade whispered in my ear as I sighed and started coding my way into the database.

After a few minutes of hacking I managed to cut off all power on Ninjago not including the Dark Island.

"I did what you've asked now let me go." I said with anger staring into Shade's black, empty, soulless eyes.

"You did do what I asked, but I have some other plans for you," Shade smirked as three Obsidian Warriors opened the door and came into the room. 

One held a syringe that had some liquid in it and the two other ones came over to me and started unscrewing my circuits to reach my power source. I tried to fight back, but to no avail as the two other warriors pinned me down as the other one had reached my power source.

"What are you going to do?" I said with a scowl across my face.

"I'll tell you what I'm going to do," Shade mouthed as he came over to me, fists clenched. 

"This substance in the syringe is the same thing that turned Kai into my personal slave. Now sense you seem to have quite some use-"

"You wouldn't."

"I would. And I will!" Shade screeched ripping the syringe out of the Obsidian Warrior's hand and pointing it at my power source.

"I will destroy you and everyone you care about to get my way. I'm not letting a pathetic Nindroid like you mess up my plans. I will rule Ninjago, I will take over, and there is NOTHING you can do about-"

He stopped. His face turned pale in pain as my mouth dropped to see a sword go straight through Shade's heart. He fell to the floor as the sword was removed from him.

Kai.

(PLAY MUSIC/VIDEO)

"There are much worse games to play." 

With that he set the room on fire and the two Obsidian Warriors released me as they fled out of the room with him and the doors locked behind them.

Sirens went off all around as I stood helpless in a ring of fire with Shade's lifeless body at my feet. I had to get out. 

I tried using my powers to stop the fire, but I couldn't. I had been drugged and it stopped my powers from working. I ran around franticly trying to pry open the doors, but they wouldn't budge. The flames spread and grew taller with each second, the heat penetrating me from every corner. I was going to die here.

Then like an angel in the sky I spotted a vent on the ceiling right above me. I could make it. But if I didn't reach it the first time it would be too late to jump again. I gathered all might and leaped for it.

I made it.

I took off the vent and climbed up and made my way through the narrow passage. As I crawled I looked down in the other vents I passed by to see Obsidian Warriors scrambling towards an exit. I then pushed out another vent and dropped to the metal floor. The fire had spread and was right on my tail. I ran to the now closing exit door that was a few meters away. I can make it.

Then I fell.

I watched on the ground as the last warriors slid under the closing exit door. I shut my eyes tightly admitting defeat as the hall filled with black thick smoke. I choked on the air as I banged on the exit door. 

Just as all hope had been lost I spotted a closed shaft on the ceiling. I reached up to the handle and opened it to see the light of day. I then propelled myself up one last time shutting the shaft behind me.

I was in the woods of the Dark Island. There base had been underground the whole time. 

I ran through the woods, not knowing where I was going. As I continued my vision became blurry and my feet buckled below me as I dropped to my knees and laid flat on my back covered by the shade of the woods.

I stared up into the blue sky, my power source still open for anyone to destroy. My vision now going dark as I drifted away. Far away.

From reality.

OMG I ACTUALLY POSTED A CHAPTER! If you read my last update you can see why I didn't want to write this again after it had been some how deleted for it's my longest chapter so far. Anyways I hoped you enjoyed this and thank you so much for all the love and support!

(Sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes.)

(P.S. Yes I did use a quote from the hunger games when Kai was talking cause I thought it fit in with the mood)
