Chapter 13 ~ Awake

Zane's POV

I bolted up. I started scanning everything in sight. I was in a cave. How did I get here? Then all the memories came pouring back into my mind. I looked down to see that my power source was screwed in again and sealed away like normal. I then proceeded to stand up. There was a light on the wall around the corner. I peaked around to find Sensei Wu, Misako, Nya, Cole, and Jay huddled around a fire not saying a word. Where was Lloyd? Why weren't we on the Bounty?

"Guys?" I said as everyone turned their heads.

"ZANE!" They screamed as Jay ran over and tackled me to the ground.

"Oh my god, we all thought you were a goner! Well at least I did, but-"

"Jay, what's going on?" I asked getting back on my feet.

Silence again.

"Kai took the Bounty. He's heading for Ninjago along with the Obsidian Warriors." Sensei Wu said softly.

"And we found out Shade was leading the Obsidian Warriors, but we didn't see him on the Bounty or any of the other ships they had." Misako added.

"Kai killed him," I announced.

More silence. This conversation was going downhill faster then Cole's cooking.

"Where's Lloyd?" I asked.

"We don't know. He ran off after he thought you were gone. He thinks it's his fault." Nya explained.

"I can find him. It will just take me a couple minutes of scanning," I replied starting to scan the island.

After a couple minutes I found him.

"He's at the Temple of Light."

"Ok then lets go!" Jay hollered.

"Hold on Jay. If we go, all he's going to do is run off again," Cole said.

"Then I'll go." I stated.

"Good. Quickly Zane," Sensei Wu commanded.

I bowed, ran out of the cave, summoned my elemental dragon, and flew off into the night.

After flying across the entire island I spotted it, and landed my dragon at the Temple of Light's steps. It had been so long ago the last time we were here. I ran up the steps and pulled open the tall doors. The moonlight shined through the opening of the doors and brought light to the temple. The dust covered bell hung still as it casted a shadow in the middle where a green ninja was meditating.

"Lloyd!" I shouted running over to him.

He glanced up and bolted to his feet.

"Zane?!" He said shocked, but happy. "I thought you were gone."

"I'm not. Lloyd, why are you here?"

He frowned and turned around.

"Nothing... you should probably just go back to the others."

"Lloyd, we need to stop Kai and the Obsidian Warriors before they takeover Ninjago," I stated.

"They already left Zane. There's no use. It's over, and it's all my fault." Lloyd replied, still with his back turned on me.

My eyebrows narrowed as I grabbed his shoulders and turned him around to face me.

"No it's not Lloyd. We need you more than ever right now. We can't do this without you," I said.
