***Ronnie's POV***
I walked out of the hospital room, careful not to slam the door.
Tuning to the left quickly, I almost ran into the exact person that I didn't want to see right now.
Jennifer opened her mouth to say something, but I held my hand up in front of me to stop her.
"I can't deal with you right now," I cut her off before she could say anything.
I continued to make my way toward the front of the building, walking quickly. I just wanted to get out of there as soon as I could.
I pulled out my phone and dialed the only number that I knew would be able to come and get me.
"Hello?" Kara's voice answered from the other end of the line.
"Hey Kara. Could you come pick me up at the hospital? I need a ride back to school," I said.
"Why are you at the hospital? Is everything alright?" She asked, sounding concerned.
"I was here because Connor was in an accident, but I just want to go back to school now," I said.
She was silent for a little and I could hear her talking to someone that was there with her.
"Yeah, I'll be there in a few minutes," She said finally.
After I hung up the phone, I realized how cold it was outside. I didn't want to go back inside and risk running into Jennifer again, so I just stayed outside in the cold until Grace's blue jeep pulled up to where I was waiting.
I rushed to the warmth of the car and quickly hopped in the backseat.
"Thanks for doing this, it really means a lot," I said as soon as I buckled my seat belt.
"I can't drive, so I had to get Grace to come here with me," Kara turned around from the front seat.
I sighed and looked out the window.
"So what happened? Is Connor okay?" Grace looked at me through the rearview mirror.
"He was driving this morning and he crashed into someone. He broke his arm, and blacked out for a little white, but that was it," I said.
"Well why aren't you there now?" Kara asked cautiously.
"Connor and I aren't exactly on the best terms right now," I said, not explaining myself completely.
I hoped that she wouldn't ask me about it, because I know that if she did, I would start crying and become a mess.
I would talk to her about it later, but not right now.
"Are you sure you want to go back to school, or do you want to stay with us for the rest of the day?" Kara asked.
I thought about it for a moment. If I went back to school, I wouldn't be able to pay attention anyway, so there was no use in going.
"I guess I'll stay with you," I said, then realized something. "How did you get out of class so easily to come and get me?" I asked.
"I have.. connections," Kara said, not looking at me.
"And by that she means that her dad's the headmaster," Grace added.
Kara turned to Grace with embarrassment in her eyes.
"I don't want everyone on the earth to know that," Kara said to her.
It was fun to watch the two of them interact with each other, you could tell that they were best friends just by looking at them.
