Hayley // Pistol
I cradled my pistol in my warm hands. I shot someone today. & I had invaded their home.
The fire in the fire place sizzled & crackled loudly. I didn't know where I was in life.
Do I have feelings for Harum?
I hate Benz
I never loved him
It was all an illusion because I was afraid he was going to kill me
I miss them
I miss all of them
I miss Hayes
I wanna be with Hayes.
I then heard the door bell ring & went to go answer it.
I was in nothing but a thin matte pink silk robe I found in the closet.
I opened the door & saw a very frail old woman with a plate of brownies.
"Oh hello young lady. Is Mr Chambers here?" she asked as she was a bit shocked.
"Must be the owner," I thought.
"I'm sorry no he's not. But I'm his niece. I'm house sitting for him while he's away," I lied with my showing stopping smile.
"Oh so you're little Kimberley?" she said with a delighted giggle.
"Yes, but he always overreacts about my age," I laughed.
"Well I just came here to give him brownies to say thank you for fixing my drain block but since he's not home, would you like them dear?" she asked.
"Yes I would. Thank you so much ma'am," I smiled & took the plate.
"Oh please call me Gretel," she smiled & cradled her hands into her coat pockets, "are you sure you don't need anyone to look after you or cook or clean for you dear?"
"Oh no I'm fine Gretel. I'm twenty & I can take care of myself thank you," I smiled & that's when she started to squint.
"Henry told me you're sixteen," she murmured & I was caught off guard.
"Oh, Uncle Henry always getting my age wrong," I laughed, panic building inside of me.
"I'm just going to go & give him a call just to make sure," she smiled with a little nod & turned around to walk away.
"Wait, Gretel on second thought, could you help me with dinner? My boyfriend is coming over & I want to impress him," I blushed & allowed her in.
"Well alright honey. What are you making?" she asked as she walked down the hall to the kitchen.
"Lasagna, I mean everyone loves it right," I laughed. She laughed with me as she stood in front of the oven. She was naming ingredients as I thought of a plan. I looked around the kitchen for a weapon. I shifted closely to the counter & grabbed a pan.
"Okay sweetie. Let's get started," she chimed & just as she was about to turn around, my hand flew & made contact with her head.
There she fell. A pool of blood surfaced on the cold tile floor. I ran into the living room, grabbed my pistol & ran back into the kitchen to see her still bleeding.
"Please," she said faintly, "why are you doing this?"
My heart began to break. I guess this is what Hayes meant by the guilt.
"I'm sorry," I whispered as tears started streaming in my eyes. "I really am Gretel," I cried & made two shots. She was dead. The blood was flooding the whole floor.
I walked out of the kitchen & sat on the couch as I cried & ate the brownies that Gretel gave me.
I was too mortified to clean up the scene so I decided I'll do it tomorrow. My heart was tearing in two. She was an innocent old lady who didn't deserve this. What I was doing was wrong. I felt terrible. Then I heard Harum's voice in my head.
"She had to have done something wrong or done someone wrong & you are bringing justice to that person,"
My breathing slowed down & my heart didn't beat that much. I was calmed down. But I was still sad because I was missing Hayes.
