"Lizetta, you know Mother hates you in black", I shook my head at her.

She rolled her eyes at me before winking.

Yep, Mother would freak, but a day isn't normal when she doesnt freak. And she would, with what Lizetta is wearing. Especially since we have guests.

Lizetta's POV

I'm used to mother's rants and raves just as much as any other teenage daughter, but sometimes she makes no sense at all. Lucky for me, I have a sister to help me deal with this. I turn to her just as she finishes getting ready, "Lia, what do you think she meant by 'targets'? I don't get that woman sometimes." I smooth out my black dress and smile knowing that this might set her off even more, I turn to Amelia for an answer, she was off no help as usual, giving me noncommittal shrug. With a sigh, I turned away and waited for her to finish with whatever she needed to do. I looked at my little sister in her cute dress, "Oh my, look at you cute one!" I wink at her as she gives me an irritated look and hook my arm with hers as we head to the garden to meet our mysterious guests.

I missed our garden, even though I never went into it during the day. Being away from home for so many years made me miss every part of this place, even my weird parents. I always try to ask why they sent us there so suddenly, but just as I ask I get shot down just as fast. Amelia isn't as curious or daring, it's my fault we got kicked out of school and that we're in this situation, she just listened to her elder sister and she got in trouble. It's a gnawing feeling that I can't shake, everytime I look at my sister I remember that she can't go school because of me. Unfortunately for both of us, we have bigger fish to fry right now. I'd recognise that hair anywhere, "Damnit, Ethan..." I look at a confused Amelia and explain,"Family friend, my age and mom is probably going to try to get me married to him." I sigh deeply as Amelia drags me up the stairs onto the huge gazebo where they were all sitting. I straighten up immediately when I see everyone staring at us, I smile awkwardly at everyone and nod, "Hi, guys!" I see my mom bury her face in her hands and Ethan, with a new face beside him, smile as an attempt to hide their laughter, beside me Amelia sighs and I realise that this is going to be one interesting meeting, what a way to start my new-found freedom from schooling.

After a while of awkward silence, with our guests still trying to not laugh with little success, I finally break the silence, "Ethan, how are you? What are you doing here?" Mother gasped and leered at me,"Lizetta! Watch your language, young lady!" Ethan does something that sounds like a giggle and replies, "It's most alright, I was just in the neighbourhood and thought I might pop in to see my childhood friends with Tate over here. He's new, don't worry about not knowing him." He gives Amelia a goofy grin just as the guy named Tate elbows him playfully in his side. In fact, he looks at Amelia a lot and this could come in handy later when I'm bored and need to annoy someone, but my imaginary tease session was cut short by mother's voice,"Yes, and while Ethan was here, I took the liberty of fixing his alliance with you Lizetta." All of us, including father, stared at her with your jaws dropped, oh how I wished I was still in school.
