James' POV

I know every father loves his children, I cannot deny that. However, I feel my girls are especially exceptional when compared to other girls their age. Being princesses have little to do with my belief that they are wonderful girls, they just prove time and again how they face challenges head on, which is mostly their mother. I smile to myself as I think about how Lizetta stood up to her mother and I, so she could protect her sister. I watch sun rise, indicating a new day and Amelia's birthday. I look at my sleeping wife and smile again, she's so strong, always so perfect in everything she does. I walk over to her and kiss her cheek softly, attempting to wake her. She stirs and opens her eyes slowly. "What is it, James?", she asks me. "Time to rise and shine, darling. We have to make last minute arrangements for the party tonight." I laughed as Maria groaned as a complaint, she hardly ever does this. She did something that looked like dragging herself out of her bed and she walked into the bathroom. I decided to lay back in bed and continue watching the sun rise over my fair kingdom.

While Maria occupied herself with decorations and food preparations, I made myself useful in the security department. This alliance is sure to set off some sparks with the bandits who took my daughter. I received news that they are on their way back from their camping trip and I am  both excited and nervous about this evening. So, I stationed guards at every point of entry in the palace, even asked Ethan's parents for a loan of guards, since their son was involved as well. They had advised me to consult with Sir Tate as well, as he was their head of military and a brilliant strategist. I look forward to seeing what knowledge he has exactly, but for now, I shall place my guards as I see fit. I conclude my preparation and head to my quarters to get ready for the party. I see Maria lay out a gown on the bed for herself and she analyses it. She sees me walk in and smiles,"James, dear. Do you think I would look presentable in this gown tonight?" I chuckle and step closer to her, taking her in my arms. "You would look absolutely beautiful, with or without a fancy gown, my queen." Maria laughed and drew me closer to her and placed her head on my chest, "I love you, James." I kiss her forehead and reply, "I love you more, Maria."
