Lizetta's POV

Amelia's sudden memory loss had certainly put a damper on things, but we decided to just go with what the doctor said and carry on as normal. We were to never mention the events of that day, and to let her remember by herself. She has accepted that the party already happened, but the fact that she cannot recall it seems to be bothering her. Our parents arranged a getaway for us, but we weren't really up for it. They assured us it would be top secret and safe, but being attacked wasn't the only problem we had. Amelia wasn't comfortable in her surroundings, it showed in the way she approached people and spoke to us. Of course she tried her best to hide it, but I saw through everything. She always was the quiet one, never wanting to bother anyone with her problems even when she was dying inside because of them. As her older, and worried sister, I decided that maybe getting out of the house would do her some good. I approached my parents about it, "I think that you guys were onto something with the getaway suggestion..." My mom and dad looked at each other with a knowing smirk on their faces. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah. I know. Anyway, I'm going to speak to the doctor about this. Do I have your permission, your highness?" I looked at my mom, she nodded and I spun around on my heel and left before she could say anything else.

The doctor had just finished conducting a check-up on Amelia when I found him. He was deep in thought, probably trying to figure out how to help her. I knocked softly on his door and he shot up in his chair, "Princess! You startled me!" I chuckled and stepped into the small consulting room. "What can I do for you, princess?", he asked me. I sat down, trying to look as serious as possible. "I want to take Amelia on a holiday.", I looked him straight in the eye. The doctor shook his head and laughed, "That's actually a very good idea." I blinked in surprise, "Really?" He laughed again, nodding his head, "Yes, really. Being here is only reminding her that she cannot remember something important and it is somewhat stressing her out. Getting out of here would mean there's no expectation to remember anything. I'm quite impressed that you came up with this idea, princess" I smiled, no way was I gonna let my parents take the credit for this one. "Well, thank you so much, doctor. I shall deliver the news to Amelia and my parents at once. See ya!", I sprung up from my chair and raced out of the room, eager to tell Amelia the news.

I found Amelia sitting by the window in our room, staring out of it. I approached carefully from behind and tapped her lightly on the shoulder. She jumped and screamed, and I instantly jumped back as well.  She sat there, her hand on her chest and glaring at me. I smiled as an apology, "I'm so sorry. I didn't think..." She shook her head, "Yeah, you almost never think." Her words went through me like bullet. I stepped back and looked the floor. "I'm sorry", I said. I looked back up at her, "So, mom and dad suggested, and the doctor too, that we go out... like, on a holiday." I stood there, shifting on my feet uncomfortable. Amelia sighed, "What good would that do?" I shrug in response, "Well, you know, getting away from this place would be good for everyone. New setting, new memories?" Amelia jumped to her feet and came to stand in front of me, "Liz, my memory may never come back! I need to stay here, maybe it'll increase the chances of them coming back." I shook my head and placed my hands on her shoulders gently, "Amelia, I know, but maybe you're not meant to get them back so that we can replace them with even better ones?" She nodded and turned away from me, "I heard Ethan proposed... I wanna remember, Liz. I need to." She slouched, looking so defeated, my heart felt so sore for her. "He'll get another chance, and I don't think your answer has changed. I'm sure he'd do it again. He loves you." She nodded again, "Fine, I'll go." I hopped over to her and hugged her, "Oh! Thank you for being willing! I was afraid that I would have had to kidnap you for a minute there!" I could feel her laughing in my arms, "Whatever Liz, just let me tell Ethan we're leaving." I let go and sprang backwards, "And I shall deliver this wonderful news to Tate." I give Amelia my best curtsey and I walk out of the room, making a beeline for Tate's room.

I knocked gently and waited. His voice came muffled through the door, and I stepped inside. I certainly had awful timing. He was sprawled across his bed, shirtless and looking incredibly sleepy and adorable. He got up from the bed, which looked like he was doing slowly on purpose, and approached me. He had this sheepish smile on his face and he stood in front of me. "Well?", he asked, "What's up?" I struggle to find my breath, and to find the words to tell him what I need to. "I...urhm, well...", I stumble over my words and the twinkle in his eye told me that he enjoyed seeing me this flustered and nervous. "Demon? You okay over there? You look a bit red", he chuckled. I roll my eyes, and look him in the eye, mostly so that I don't have to look at the rest of him, "Look, my parents suggested that we leave and go to this private island place. To give Amelia some space and time to recover. We leave tomorrow." I turned to leave, but my insecurity got the better of me and I turned around to look at him, "Do you think it's a good idea?" The smug expression from his face faded and softened, he stepped towards me again and took me in his arms, his body heat felt heavenly, my mind drifted to thoughts of curling up on his chest and falling asleep. My eyes close, as I allow my imagination to take over, forgetting what I was there for in the first place. "Liz, as much as I love this, we need to talk", I felt his body vibrate as he laughed at me, I let out and sound that sounded like and growl and a whine, which drew more laughter from him. He held my arms and pushed me away gently and he looked down into my eyes, "Liz, I know you're worried about Amelia, but you know she's a strong girl, she's your sister. She can handle what ever is thrown at her, I know this because I know you." I felt my eyes sting and I pulled him back into a tight embrace, trying to conceal my tears from him, "Thanks, Tate." He kissed my hair, "You're welcome. Now, may I please put a shirt on?" I could practically feel the smirk in his tone, I poked his side and he jumped. "Sorry. Hand slipped", I said as I stand on the tips of my toes and kiss his lips softly before poking his side again, jumped again, "Oh, you are going to pay for that, Demon", he lifted me up and threw me onto the bed, before I could recover, he was on top of me. I raised my eyebrow at him and he grinned at me. I pulled him down onto me and he nuzzled my neck, which drew a fit of giggles from me, followed by a yawn. He looked up at me, "Is my little Demon sleepy?", he asked. I nodded, blushing. "Come here, you", he flopped onto his back and pulled me onto him. I placed my head on his chest and closed my eyes, letting sleep take me. Hopefully, Amelia talked things out with Ethan, things have been weird between them since the accident.
