I look over at Harry, trying very hard to get a knot out of his hair. I can't help but laugh at him struggling to pull out the small tangle and offer to help.
"Fine. You'll probably fail though." He says and I mutter a 'yeah right.' I comb my hand through his hair, easily taking out the knot in it and leaving him in shock. "How?"
"Magic!" I say, smiling to myself at the fact that I got to touch the fluffy little curls.
Ok that sounded sort of weird.
"Shall we go back now? It's getting a bit late." He says which is an understandable idea, and probably normal since we are already in the car.
I nod and turn the ignition key to my car. It's nothing too fancy. An old Toyota Corolla I bought second hand because I hate taking the bus to school.
"So... how are you spending the holidays?" I ask while I start driving out of the parking spot and onto the road. He sighs.
"Not doing much really." He says and I agree. "We should meet up in the holidays often. Bring Niall along too!"
"Definitely." I say, laughing lightly at his enthusiasm.
"Uh, I've got an idea!"
I chuckle. "That's a first." He gives me a glare before I stop laughing and sigh in defeat. "Oh what is your great idea?"
"Let's tell each other 3 things we don't know about each other!" He says and I think of it as a good idea. I mean, it's great that he wants to get to know me.
One step further in my master 'ask Harry out' plan! And, cue evil laughter.
I take a minute to think about what to say as my 3 things he wouldn't know about me, making sure that I throw in that I'm gay at the end because, once again, it is another step further in my plan.
"Ok, well. I hate baked beans, I once ate 26 slices of cake because I'm a fatty, and I'm gay." I say and Harry starts laughing at the part with the cake, surprisingly not shocked at all over the fact that I just outed myself to him and I haven't even to my own mother.
Am I really that obvious?
"Well, as for me, I am also gay, I have had a 'near kiss' but never really kissed anyone and I was once in geography class and half asleep and when the teacher told me to point to Africa, I pointed to China." He says and I try concealing my shock and absolute happiness that he is also gay behind a laugh at the last addition.
My plan is working! I have now discovered his deepest, darkest secrets and I shall now take over his heart!
Once again, cue evil inside-mind-and-not-out-loud laughter.
"Why are you laughing like that?" Harry asks.
Or outside-mind-by-accident evil laughter?
"Uh... I just realised a prank I could play on Niall." I cover up quickly, trying not to sound unsure about why I'm laughing like some maniac of a mad scientist.
"Ok then." He says, laughing to himself as I drive along the freeway. "Hey, can I crash at your place until about 9? My mum's friends are coming over and I don't feel like socialising."
"Sure dude, my parents are not home anyways." I say, taking the exit onto my road. I drive down a little bit then pull up in my driveway.
Since we've been gone for a little while now, it's nearly dark outside, so the sensor lights switch on automatically, illuminating the driveway for me to park.
We both get out of the car and walk up the front walkway to the house. I reach for my pocket to pull out my keys, only to find them not to be there.
"Shit." I curse, looking through the small leather bag on my shoulder. With no luck I groan in frustration.
"What's up?" Harry asks, concern running down his face.
I sigh. "I forgot my keys in the house."
"Oh," Is all Harry says before I walk past him and go sit on the grass in the front lawn. "I'll stay with you." He walks over to sit next to me.
I lie down and yawn, looking up at the sky. It isn't often you can see many stars in the sky, due to all the pollution in London, and today isn't one of the days when you can see any. I look up into the pitch darkness, closing my eyes for a second.
Opening my eyes back up again, I turn from my back onto my side and see Harry do the same. I push one of his curls out of his face and smile. He returns the smile and shuffles a little closer to me.
"Your hair is so fluffy and adorable." I say and I can make out a faint plush creep up onto his cheeks. I chuckle, turning back around onto my back and sitting up, crossing my legs. Harry lets out a big yawn and sits up too. "Tired?"
He nods and rests his head on my shoulder. My breath hitches for a second before I take a few deep breaths, resting my head on top of his.
"Louis?" Harry asks as he lifts his head and I look over at him.
"Yes?"
He looks up. "Have you ever really wanted to do something, but felt afraid of it?"
"All the time." I admit. The truth is, that's exactly how I'm feeling now, restraining myself from kissing his pink lips. "But what I know is, if you really want something, go for it."
Being pretty contradictory with myself, because I know what I really want and yet I'm still not going for it, is ironic to say the least, but I have a reason.
Or maybe I don't.
"You really think I should go for it?" Harry asks.
"Of course!"
"If it fails, it's your fault." He jokes and I give him a look which says 'what the hell' all over it. We both laugh a little before staying quiet again, looking at the sky which is pretty much a pitch black colour right now.
I turn to face Harry, who seems to already be looking my direction. He brings his hand to my face and gently brushes his finger past my cheek. I lean in slightly, so that our noses are pretty much touching.
He doesn't back away, instead he smiles, which seems to boost my courage up more than before, his hand still resting lightly on my cheek. His eye line moves down to my lips and his grin widens.
I decide that it's now or never.
Taking the rush of confidence from before, I gently place my lips onto his. He seems to be taken by surprise for a second before relaxing a little more into the kiss. I feel sparks of electricity run through my whole body as his soft lips move in sync with my own. He rests his hand under my chin, pulling me closer to deepen the kiss.
The only reason I end up pulling away is the lack of breath I have by the end of it. I smile at Harry and he grins, his dimples making another appearance. I gently stroke the bottom of his lip with my finger.
"I really like you Harry." I say, the smile not being able to leave my face.
"I really like you too Louis." And with that, my heart completely melts into a puddle on the ground.
Super long fluffy chapter for you guys
Ugh, I can't write cute stuff, sorry if I failed lmao
