Chapter 6
I closed the door behind me and then find Liam right next to me. "Let me guess you were listening to our conversation weren't you?" He said nothing to me but just smiled. I walked away from him I seriously have no idea where I am going but it just seem to set the mood if I walk away. I already hear Liam coming up and trying to catch up with me. "Don't worry I want tell anybody anything. But do you want to play a game?" I stopped walking to face him and smiled at him. "I'm listening." "So I know that you used to play basketball so want to play horse but with different rules." "sure why not."
We made our way to the front of the house where the basketball hoop is. "So Liam what is your rules for horse?" "Okay to its the same rules but except with the letters for every basket we make we get to ask the person any question we want and they have to answer." I nodded at him. "Okay sounds fair but I get to go first."
I stood pretty close to the hoop I haven't played in a long time and I want to make my first shot in and so I did. "Okay Liam, how come you know a lot of stuff about me?" I tossed the ball at him. "You should know that Nathan and I was really close with Mason. When we see him he talks a lot about you so yeah that's why I know a lot about you." He then made a shot and made the basket. "Lydia why did you stop playing basketball?" "I got hurt in a game broke my ankle and now I am not able to play sports anymore unless I want to get hurt again. And even if I could return back to basketball I don't have the money to pay for it anymore." Liam smile was wiped off his face. "Oh I'm sorry." "Nah don't worry about it, that happen awhile ago."
For the rest of the hour we both started to play around asking each other the most stupidest but we did learn a lot about each other. We agreed to let Liam shot the last basket then we would call it a night and of course he made it like every other one. "Okay Lydia, what do you like in a guy?" "hmm don't know maybe someone who can be themselves." "Okay follow up question, do you like Nathan?" I froze at his question and I know Liam was not joking around on this question so might as well tell him the truth. "I don't know. The guy I was talking with earlier yea I like that one but the one who is popular and doesn't care fro anybody but himself then no I don't like him." It was quiet for a little bit. "Don't like who?" I jumped a little and turned around seeing Nathan leaning against the house. "If you two are done being childish, Liam there's a party at Jade tonight if you want to come." I looked back at Liam and he looked torn to see where he wants to go. But I stepped up and said something to him. "Its okay if you want to go we can shot hoops other time." But when Liam look back at me he smiled then looked at Nathan. "Nah its okay I just going to hang with Lydia all night." Nathan didn't look too happy. "Whatever I will just go alone doesn't really matter if you come or not." With that comment he walked to his car. "And reality starts itself again." I muttered to myself but I think Nathan heard me since he stopped walking and turned around back at me. "Its always been reality."
I really don't know what I should be feeling at this point all I see is Nathan the guy that I never knew before. Other than the one who wanted to live in his dream world and talked his heart out. I looked right back at him. "Yeah your right about that, because the guy who I was talking to earlier was an asshole and not a guy who has a heart. Yeah I am done with dreaming because in some life dreams don't come true." With that I left everbody speechless by now they should know that I always get the last word, I looked back over at Nathan he had no expression on his face, bet no one ever gave him an opinion.
Liam finally broke the slients. "Well I will see you later Nathan, and Lydia and I will be watching basketball in the living room." Liam pulled me inside. We came into the living room and turned on the TV right away. I plopped myself down on the couch and stared at the TV. "Lydia?" I looked over at Liam. "Yes." "Are you sad that you can't play basketball anymore?" "Yeah I am by the time I found out that I couldn't play anymore I was so depressed, but I am kind of over it. But if I had a chance to play again I would take it in a heartbeat." Liam got up and moved sat next to me on the couch. "And how is your ankle now?" "Um its fine, just sometimes hurt when I walk, but its nothing that I can't handle." The rest of the night we both were watching The game shouting at the TV betting on which team would win.
Later that night I was tried. I was half asleep and was laying on Liam's lap. I heard Nathan come into the front door but I didn't bother to open my eyes. Liam already thinks I'm asleep. "Hey little bro how was the party?" "It was alright nothing new just everybody getting wasted like normal. Is Lydia sleeping?" Again I didn't move or opened up my eyes. "Yeah she is passed out after the game ended but I should probably carry her up to bed." "No its okay she staying in my room already so I will carry her up."
I felt Nathan arms going around my back and legs. I should let them know that I am kind of awake but then I would have to walk up the stairs. I expected him to dropped me on the ground but he put me on his bed and tuck me in. I kind of like this side of Nathan the sweet and caring one beside the one that doesn't give a crap about anybody. Before I knew it I felt him kiss me on the forehand and whisper in my ear. "Everything will be alright." I couldn't help it but to smile a little
