Unexpected Love

Chapter 15

 "Lydia what happen to you?" asked Nathan

                I stood there quiet for a moment, not knowing what to say. I wrapped my arms around myself trying to keep warm, I looked up at Nathan. His face was a mixture of shock and concern. "Nathan please help me." I begged. He was finally  back to the world of reality, the next thing that happened, I was on the ground with Nathan down right next to me. He lifted me up bridal style and I rest my head on his shoulder with my eyes shut. Then I opened up my eyes, "Nathan?" but before I could say anything he stopped me. "Shhh Lydia its okay now, I will take care of you." With that statement I realized that we are now in his room. Nathan set me down on a chair and he walked to the closet, and then gave me a T-shirt and a pair of shorts. "You can go wash up, the bathroom is across the hall."

       After a shower, I walked back to Nathan room and found him laying on the bed. I walked over to him and sat down on the bed. Nathan pull me to him, which made me shut my eyes ugh I thought my dizziness was over. "Sorry Lydia I forgot." I laid my head on his chest trying to calm down again. Slowly Nathan added on a bandage to my cut. For a few minutes nothing happened, I was just laying on Nathan while he just sat there. "Who did it to you?" he whispered. I looked up at him, "Huh?" "Look, I am not an idiot. Let me ask this again. Who was the jerk that beat you up and had you running to me." Well he wasn't my first choice to come to but I will just leave that part aside. "Emmett." I said in a whisper. Nathan then sat up and had me face him. "I know that wasn't your first time getting hit by him and also what is he doing back here I thought he was gone for good after you broke up with him." I can't whether be amazed that he cared or the fact that he knew that Emmett hurt me before. "My mom found him and had him come to back to our house and when I said that I wouldn't take him back..." I trailed off, remembering how Emmet hurt me.  

          It was almost midnight and I had the hardest time trying to fall asleep. Nathan had left the house leaving me all alone saying he just needed to handle a few things. He then told me to go to sleep but I can't sleep at a time like this, I mean who could. So I spent the time wondering around the house. After walking back up the stairs, I noticed that there was a room at the end of the hall. Wow, can't believe I haven't noticed that room while I have been here. Should I go into the room? You know what? YOLO, I am going in.

            I slowly turned the door knob and stepped inside the room. It took awhile to find the light switch. Oh my god, the room was amazing. There was a giant bookshelf with more books than I could count, a big couch with a flat screen TV, and at the end of the room there was a balcony. I went out to the balcony, from the balcony I could see my room from here. Huh, I always thought this room would be the master room. Before I could even blink a pair of hands are now on my waist--I froze. Oh No! Emmett could be right behind me right now, he must have saw me out on the balcony and found a way to break into the house and now here he is. I tried to turn around and make a break for it, but instead I ran into his chest. I started to swing my arm around and started yelling. "LET GO OF ME EMMETT!!" Afterwards, I fell down on my butt. When I looked up it was just Nathan laughing like a hyena. I was so freaking scared that it was Emmett, and just to see Nathan laughing like that kind of hurts. Nathan stopped laughing once he noticed that my eyes were watery, he bent down and looked at me straight in the eyes. "Emmett scares you that much doesn't he?" YOU DON'T SAY? I wanted to shout at him but I didn’t have the urge to fight him right now.

          A little bit later, I was now exploring the bookshelf in the bonus room. There were only a few books that I knew but the rest of them were classics, and I don't read classics. I then moved across the room looking at pictures. It was mainly pictures of Nathan and Liam with their friends. But then I came across one of Mason and me. It was us having dinner at our house, I remember that night it was when I accidently knocked over a bottle of wine onto James pants. Oh what a great night! "I remember that night too." I turned around seeing Nathan right behind me looking at the pictures on the wall. "Nathan?" he look down at me and smiled, "Yeah?" Man this is so hard to say right now ugh. "Um thanks for taking care of me and letting me stay the night. I mean a lot has happened and now I am living in fear since Emmett came back. I am also sorry for the mean things I said to you before." Nathan pulled me towards him and smiled. "It’s about time you said that." Playfully pushing him away, I then went over to sit down on the couch.

       Call of Duty MW3 is one of the best games ever, Nathan taught me how to play for a little bit and it was already 1 in the morning and we were both still playing. "Push R3 to kill the dog!" Nathan yelled at me. "I am trying here but its not working!!" About a second later, we lost that round and a very pissed Nathan--Oh goody! "Lydia that's was all of your fault." Oh now it is personal. "My fault! I was not the only one that died here! Don't jump to conclusion so fast or else!" "Or else what?" The second I try to smack Nathan he grabbed my wrist and in an instant, I was trapped in his grip. "LET GO OF ME!" I screamed at him. "What's the magic word?" "Abracadabra!" "Um Nope!" Just with that he started to tickle me. Trying to pull his hands away from me, I awfully failed. A second later he stopped. I then relaxed and was laying on his lap staring up into his eyes. It was then I realized that I wanted him to be at my side. Thanks to him I haven't been this happy in a while. Sure Megan was there but I don't get to see her often in school or outside of school much anymore because of Liam. Nathan may have not done much but it was a lot for me. My eyes were growing heavy I was about ready to call it a night---"Hey I'm back, who missed me?" If only I had a knife right now. It was Liam--he’s always ruining these moments. I didn’t have the manpower to glare at Liam so I just let the darkness wash over me.

          I woke up feeling refreshed turning my head over I see a sleeping Nathan. Slowly getting up I noticed my backpack and clothes on Nathan desk. I didn’t remember bringing those here. Was that where he went last night? I was grateful to have my stuff at least. Walking down to the kitchen I found Liam eating cereal. He noticed me and gave me a big smile. "So anything new happen last night?" he said while giving me a wink. "No, but why did you get back so late last night what was going on with you and Megan? Did you ask her out yet?" Liam face kind of turn red and he quickly looked away from me. I walked up to him and started to poke him, "Aw does Little Liam have a high school crush that is so cute." He turned around and was leaning towards me that cause me to lean back a little bit. "Its not a high school crush and what about you Lydia one minute you tell me that you and Nathan are nothing and now I find you guys in the same room smiling at each other." Dang, he got me. "Um...well you see...um...." A big smile formed on Liam face, crap he got me. "Ha! I win! But anyway so do you like him or what?" "I don't know but I really want him in my life, he helped me a lot and I am grateful for it but I just--I don’t know..."

That afternoon I was reading City of Bones for like the fifth time. It was such a good book and then again I am a bookworm. Turning around I noticed that Nathan just woke up, he wakes up so late. "Hey Lydia go upstairs and get changed we have to go somewhere today." Without asking any question or arguing (for the first time) I got up and went upstairs to go get ready. I threw on a tank top and a pair of shorts. It is so hot in Florida even in December. Grabbing my phone I ran downstairs. Looking over at Nathan I gave him a big smile. "Hey I'm ready to go." Giving me a wired looked he asked, "What got you in such a good mood?" "A lot has happened to me and I am finally able to let it all go, so where are we going?" Following Nathan out the door he finally answered me. "We are to going a place, that is in this state." "Oh geez thanks for that information Nathan that was very useful and I did not know that at all."  "LYDIA!" My head turned around quickly. Emmett was quickly walking over to me. I felt Nathan tense up beside me. Uh-oh.
