I stayed frozen at the couch, that cannot be Mason, I wasn't suppose to see him till-well I don't know when would be the next time I would see him but it should not be now. "I thought this be a good pre-Christmas present for you." Nathan whispered into my ear. I stood up and jumped into Mason arms. "Oh my gosh you are back!!" I shouted into Mason ears, all he did was chuckled and hugged me back. "Its nice to see you too baby girl."

"Mason is that you?" I turned around to see Mrs. Johnson walking into the living room with a big smile on her face. Mason then walked up to her and gave her a hug. "Its nice to see you again Mrs. Johnson." After a bit of everyone greeting Mason, we all decided to eat dinner.

"Oh Mason does your mother know that you are back in town yet?" Mrs. Johnson asked, I rolled my eyes at being reminded of my mother, I mean I don't hate her it’s just that she be more happy to see Mason than me. If she really loved her children she would be equally happy. "Lydia do you know if mom is coming tomorrow?" "I gave her the invite but I don't know if she is going to come, she might spent it with James." I informed him. Mason gave me the look you kind of get from your parents when you did something wrong. "Don't call your father by his first name Lydia that's rude."

You could feel the intenseness in the room now. Everyone knows why I call James, James. What Mason just said kind of ticked me off. "Mason he left us, what else do you want me to say?" "Lydia he is still our dad and he is your blood and he supported you for school." I am trying to hard to keep my temper at this rate. "Yeah he supported me because the law said he had to otherwise he won't, blood or not he is not my dad!" "Lydia your family has been by your side for your whole life and you are taking this for granted."

I stood up right away and started to glare at Mason. "No you're wrong! No one has ever been at my side, only yours and you been that only one that cared for me. But you know what? One day you just took off to college that the last minute, do you have any idea how much that hurt me? So don't go around saying you've been there for me when you took off without saying goodbye." All eyes were now focused on me, it is an intense feeling of have people staring you down. "Lydia-" Mason tried to talk to me but I cut him off. "No I don't want to talk about this anymore, but if you will excuse me I am not hungry anymore." I walked away and ran up the stairs.

I sat out in the balcony trying to calm down but since I am a bit suborn it is hard not to be mad anymore. Sometimes I wonder why I think we get along so well. I mean this fight we had was something we usually do, so there should be no difference with back then and now. I then heard footsteps behind me. "I am not in the mood to talk." I said to whoever was behind me.

It was quiet for a moment then a pair of arms wrapped around me-Nathan was behind me. "So this must be the worst present you ever got huh?" I turned around to wrap my arms around Nathan. "No its the best present ever, because this showed that you listened to me."

For awhile Nathan and I were just hanging out on the balcony chatting about random stuff. That's how you know you are comfortable with someone-when you guys can talk about anything. "Lydia can I talk to you?" I turn around to see Mason standing at the door. I whispered in Nathan ear. "I will come and get you later." He just nodded at me and walked away.

It was just Mason and me. I had no idea what to say at all so as what all people would do, I kept quiet. "Lydia did it really hurt you that bad when I left you?" I just rolled my eyes at him and answered him back. "It did, but don't worry I'm not that hurt anymore. Please lets just not talk about this anymore." I begged him.

"Lydia we are going to talk about this. And I don't care what goes on between you and our parents anymore but as long as you are not mad at me." I turned around to face him, "You know we are not treated equally, and all these years we took care of ourselves so can we just not talk about our family anymore?" Mason then nodded at me and smiled. "Does that mean we are okay now?" "Yeah sure why not."
