"Oh, my... head!" I groaned. I fluttered my eyes open and everything was blurry. I could make out heads of brown and blonde hair(meeeee!!!). "Laurance? Marie?"
"(Y/N)! Are you okay!?" Marie and Laurance yelled in sync. I blinked a few times to focus my sight and I saw the little girl along with Marie and Laurance.
I quickly sat up and pulled Laurance and Marie to the side. "What happened?"
"W-Well I was just... you know getting a bottle ready because Lilac was crying and I assumed she was hungry, so I got the bottle and when I turned around the baby was gone and she was there!!!" Marie whispered quickly. "Is this normal? I don't think it's normal. It's not normal!"
"Nothing's normal with us anymore," Laurance sighed.
"Sorry this happened on your watch," I sighed.
"Did you know this was gonna happen!?"
"No, but I am prepared for the worst," I grumbled looking back at my now six year old daughter. I pulled fifty bucks from my pocket and handed it to Marie. "For your troubles."
"Okay," she looked a little flustered. I turned and walked over to Lilac.
"Okay sweetie, it's time to go home! We're going to go set your room up. Okay?"
"Yay!" She jumped up and down.
"C'mon, Laurance don't be dilly-dallying!" I smiled. He looked at me like I was crazy.
"Uh right!" He yelled. We got in the car and drive home. Before we went inside I stopped him. "Something wrong?"
"I think we should tell Zane." I nodded.
"Why?" Laurance shook his head. I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone and showed him all the pictures of Zane and Lilac playing.
"She's his niece and granted one of his favorite people." I mumbled.
"Okay." He nodded. "You can do that while I set up the room." He kissed me and walked inside.
"YOU'RE A REAL JERK SOMETIMES!!!" I yelled from the doorway.
"I KNOW!!!" He yelled back. I rolled my eyes then looked down at Lilac.
"You want to go see Uncle Zane and Uncle Garroth?" I asked.
"Yay!" She squealed. I picked her up, resting her on my waist and walked across the street. I ran over to the door and knocked. Garroth opened the door.
"Oh hey baby sister... who's the kid?" He asked.
"Your niece," I smiled.
"What!?" He yelled looking at her more clearly. "Oh my Irene she is!"
"ZANE!!!" I yelled.
"I'M PLAYING WITH ME PON- CAR GAMES!!!"
"ZANE, LILAC IS HERE!!!" I heard a thud and then Zane fell down the stairs. Lilac giggled at Zane's clumsiness. He looked up, shocked.
"SHE'S OLDER!!!" He yelled.
"What are you talking about!?" I laughed through gritted teeth.
"I mean... did you grow another inch since the last time I saw you?" He glared at me.
"Hehehehe, you're silly Uncle Zane!" She giggled with her sweet, innocent voice. I smiled a little heart struck.
"Well we just dropped by to say hi and uh see how you two are doing. Looks nice in here, don't get my kitchen messy again and uh, ready to go see if daddy fixed up your room?" I asked, looking down at Lilac.
"YE!!!" She screeched, running out of the house, dancing. I sighed and waved.
"Bye, I'll explain sometime soon!!!" I waved as we left. Then Lilac and I headed home. We ran upstairs, racing. I let her win and saw Laurance set up a small twin sized bed.
"Where did we even get that?" I asked.
"I bought it by accident," he scratched the back of his neck, grinning.
"Had a hunch?"
"Something like that," he smiled.
We put Lilac to bed and went into our room, flopping onto the bed. "How do you act so naturally about that?" He mumbled.
"Why wouldn't I? I've been stabbed, sliced, kidnapped, run over, poisoned, blinded and cursed. That's one of the least scariest things I've seen in my life." I sighed. I felt his lips press against my head.
"You're a pretty tough lady," he whispered. "I can't believe I got this lucky." I glanced at him.
"Lucky? Because of me our child went from a couple months old to six years old in a matter of minutes."
"It happens every now and then." He shrugged.
"Not necessarily," I shook my head.
There was a long silence between us.
"Why'd you choose me? All I've ever done is caused trouble for you." He pulled me into a hug, which I had refused to return.
"Because... no one else can put up with my crap like you. Because no one can scare the hell out of me like you. Because no one makes my day as bright as the sun like you. Because no one puts up with my friends and family like you. I don't care what anyone thinks. I spoke a vow to always love you and I plan on keeping that vow till I die."
"What if I die first?"
"Then I'll still love you." I smiled into his shoulder, finally returning the hug.
"You're something special," I whispered.
"You're right. No one thought a casanova like me would ever get married before Garroth and that's saying something because we all know Garroth's most likely not going to get married." He laughed.
"You are also very mean sometimes," I laughed, pulling away.
"I know... so what do you want to do for the time being?" He asked, giving me "the look". I raised my eyebrows and leaned towards him slowly and left a small space between us.
"You know?" I whispered, feeling his hot breath against my face. My hands were planted on either side of him.
"Yeah?" The breath came out, spreading over me like a sheet of warmth. I shivered as the numbing feeling took over.
I bit my lip and inched a little closer. "Would you maybe... I don't know," I trailed my hand up his arm, stopping at his shoulder, "want to watch The Walking Dead?"
"Yes," he laughed.
