I woke up to the sound of screaming. I sat up quickly, fear etched in my face as Laurance sat up too. "LILAC?!" I yelled getting out of bed. I ran to her room, throwing the door open. She was crying in her bed.
I slid over next to her, pulling her into my arms. "What happened are you okay?" I whispered.
"I-I had a bad dream!!!" She cried. I sighed in relief and hugged her tightly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She shook her head.
"Can I sleep with you and daddy?" She asked, whipping away tears. I nodded.
"Of course sweetie," I kissed her head and picked her up and carried her to our room and laid her in between Laurance and I.
When I woke up a few hours later I heard the bell being rung. I sat up and quickly ran downstairs. I swung the door open. "WHO'S DEAD!?" I yelled.
"Uhhhh, that's not what happened!" Aphmau shrieked. I sighed. "But your brother's kinda a baby again!"
"OH NO GARROTH WHERE ARE YOU!?" I yelled.
"Not Garroth (Y/N) it-"
"VYLADDDDDDD!!!!!!"
"NOT VYLAD!!!" Aphmau shrieked angrily.
"OMG ZANE!!!" I shrieked. Aphmau pulled a little baby Zane out from behind her back. "ZANE ARE YOU OKAY!?" I asked.
"I'm fine!" He whined. I squealed a little.
"Just gonna say you look adorable as a baby!!!" I squealed, whisking his away from Aph.
"Speaking of babies... where's Lilac!?" Aphmau smiled. I looked at Zane and he looked at me. I looked back at Aph.
"Uhhhh... not here."
"Where is she!?" Aphmau demanded.
"Upstairs," I sighed Aphmau ran upstairs into Laurance's and my room. I sighed again as Aphmau screamed a little too loud. I heard pounding footsteps as Aaron ran over to us.
"Where's Aph!!! Is she okay!?" He asked, then noticed baby Zane. "...What happened?"
"Don't worry about and Aph is fine... she just saw... my child," I bit my lip.
"What does that mean?" He asked eyeing me carefully.
"My child kinda suddenly aged six years I've the course of seconds," I smiled awkwardly.
"It was really weird!" Baby Zane whined.
"Oh hush up! And it's okay because... well we have a crib for you Zane!" I grinned.
"You wouldn't," he urged.
Next thing you know Zane is sleeping in the crib like an actual baby! HAH TAKE THAT PHYSICS! "Have you taken Lilac to see Lucinda yet?" Aaron asked.
"Why would I?" I asked turning to him from the doorway.
"Well this isn't exactly... normal."
"My life was never exactly normal so, I'm used to it." I shrugged.
"I mean, what if it was a potion? You could reverse it I'm sure." He tried. I let him peak into Laurance and my room where Laurance and Lilac were still asleep, despite the fact Aphmau screamed.
"Its kind of nice this way. Laurance gets to try working with kids. I get to bond with her more-"
"She's also supposed to kill you in less than a year-"
"How'd you know about that!?" I snapped, glaring at him.
"Laurance told us everything." I felt a shiver go up my spine.
"It's not bothering me as much as I thought it would actually," I sighed.
"Why?" He asked gently.
"Well it'll be like I was almost never here." I looked at the wooden floorboards.
"HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT!?" He whisper yelled. I sighed glancing up.
"Aaron I can see the future. It's not that hard to say something like that for me."
"That's the problem though."
"What?"
"You're not having a hard time saying it! You should have a very hard time saying something l like that it's not-"
"Normal I know!" I snapped, glaring at him. I felt my skin heat up.
"I'm... sorry. You ask Lucinda though. At least then you'd know if it was a potion." He mumbled before walking out. I stared at him angrily as he closed the door.
I sighed before walking my room. Lilac was sitting up staring at the sheets. "Is something wrong sweetie?" I asked.
"Who were you talking to all angry like?" She asked me her eyes seemed bigger and more innocent than usual.
"It was just me and a friend had a disagreement. We're okay though," I smiled. "Now do you want to see what your Aunt Lucinda did to your Uncle Zane?" I sniffled a laugh.
"Okay!" She whispered. I walked over Laurance and knelt down in front of him.
"Hey Laurance~," I whispered in his ear all sweet and what not. He blinked a few times before opening his eyes, smiling.
"Hello love," he smiled. I kissed his cheek.
"C'mon. You're about to go laugh your butt off," I grinned, pulling him out of bed.
"Okay!" He shook his head to clear it.
"C'mon Lilac!" I waved her over with us. We walked into the nursery we had originally planned for Lilac. I went over to the crib and picked up Zane, which woke him up.
"Huh what?" He mumbled before realizing what happened. "Noooooo, (Y/N)!" He whined.
Laurance burst out laughing, tears coming to his eyes within seconds. Lilac walked closer to us and placed a hand on his foot. "Mommy he was turned by a potion." My eyes widened.
"What's right. How'd you know?"
"Well I just had this feeling. Like a sort of powerful, but not too powerful feeling." He tried to explain.
"Oh... okay." Just nodded. I knew what she was talking about. She was sending some kind of magykal aura and it was probably her first time, or at least her first time telling us.
I glance up at Laurance who had his eyebrows furrowed together. Suddenly a feeling came over me. The same one I got just under a year ago. The fear of him leaving me. I frowned and glanced at Lilac.
There was a reason I didn't ask Lucinda if it was a potion.
Mainly because I already knew. The spell was cast.
Only the cast can undo the spell.
I have less than a year to live and I'm not doing anything.
I can stall him though.
