I heard the floorboards creak and I spun around on my heels and saw Valkrum standing at the end of the hall with a grin slick on his face.
I kept my face straight and glared at him, feeling my eyes burn a bright red. "I see you've been trying to embrace your inner dem-"
"It's not mine," I laughed showing my sharp, blood covered teeth. "It's your wives. Your dead wives and I didn't even kill her... yet here I am paying the price."
"You have her power. So you're going to pay the price."
"Is that how you see this world?" I asked, steeping closer. He backed up and I tilted my head. "Afraid now?"
"N-Not at all." He stuttered. I chuckled under my breath. I saw my reflection, a full on demon, glowing read eyes, horns, grey skin and sharp teeth. The flames of hell danced across my skin.
I turned my head back to Valkrum. "I get the feeling you didn't know the full extent of your wives power... am I right?"
"That... that's power far beyond my wives ability."
"Really? Who's is it then?" I shrugged and walked closer to him, scorching the floorboards under my feet
"I-I-" I grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off his feet.
"WHO'S IS IT!?" I screamed.
"T-T-Travis'!" He choked out. I slammed his back into the floor with all my might and he grunted, spitting out blood.
"You used to be strong... what happened? Did you just... give up?" I growled.
"N-"
"I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you right now."
"Please, I can explain-"
"Explain? Explain how you've ruined not only mine, but several others lives? Explain that!" I snapped.
"I can't," he choked. I squeezed my clawed hands around his throat.
"You're going to do one good thing in your life? You're going to take mine, and my daughter's powers, then I'm going to kill you, you're going to be dead with your wife."
"Okay." He nodded. He grabbed my wrist and I felt an feeling like I was dying. I gasped and sucked in as much air as I could. He let go of my wrist and I looked down at him. "It's done."
"My daughter." I growled, seeming that my claws were gone and my skin was back to it's normal tone.
"Her powers gone too." He nodded. I grabbed a shard of glass that's to my right
"Any last words?"
"You're going down," he laughed. He flipped me off of him and I slammed my back into the floor. I coughed and tried to sit up, but Valkrum pushed my back down.
"You little double crossing b-"
"Save the talk!" He snapped and slammed my head into the floor. I groaned and quickly reacted kneeing him in the 'sun don't shine' area. He groaned and fell backwards. I got up, still clutching the glass in my hand and stabbed him in the chest.
He coughed and blood spurted from his mouth. I stood up whipping blood from my own mouth and forehead. I tried to teleport, but forgot about the whole power thing. I sighed and whipped more blood from my face and found my way out of the school and walked out into the unruly lawn.
I walked across slowly, occasionally whipping blood from my face. I saw the fountain and walked over to it, kneeling down in front of it. I glided my hand across the edge and laughed.
Everything was over now. At least I hope so.
I felt like I was alive for once. I smiled and stood up and started walking to Fallen's.
After walking for a half hour, still bleeding I got to her front door. I knocked on the door and stood back a bit. The door swung open and within a few seconds I found myself pinned to the cement with a katana pointed over my heart.
"Fallen!" I screeched. She sighed and slung the sword over her back.
"You scared the hell out of me!" She snapped. "Wait... why are you bleeding?" She asked, helping me up. I leaned on her.
"I need to see Lilac."
"She's inside, here let me help you in." She helped me walk inside and laid me down on the couch. I whipped more blood from my mouth and sat up, blinking away my blurry vision.
I saw Laurance run up to me and he grabbed the side of my face and kissed me. "What happened!?"
What happened?
What happened?
"He's dead," I mumbled. "Where's Lilac?" I asked.
"She's upstairs sleeping. Why?"
"I need to see her Laurance. I need to see her right now." I nodded. He picked me up and carried me to the guest room where Lilac was laying. My vision had cleared and I could see her and I jumped from Laurance's arms and picked her up.
Her body limped as she played in my arms. I felt my eyes water and I looked back at Laurance. "What did you say to him?" He asked.
"He took my powers... I can't bring her back... he also took her," I felt the tears run down my cheeks. Laurance sat down next to me and hugged me from behind.
"It's okay... it's not your fault-"
"I asked him to!" I cried harder. "I asked him to take my powers!"
"Why would you do that!?" Laurance exclaimed.
"I did it for you," I let go of Lilac and clung to him. "I didn't want you to look at me the way you have been since you found out." He wrapped his arms around me and I could feel his tears drip onto my neck.
I started to shake and just curled up. "This is all my fault!"
"Hey! Listen to me!" He snapped and lifted my head to look at him. "Its not your fault. You were doing what you thought would be best."
"No... I was being selfish!" I cried. He moved my hair and kissed me.
"It's okay to be selfish." I nodded and moved down next to Lilac's body.
"I'm so sorry... my sweet child." I whispered, kissing her cheek.
