Kidnapped by Werewolves

Chapter 23: Wolfsbane Part 1

Jax' p.o.v.

I shuffled through the bushes as I arrived at my designated spot for guard duty, which was located on the north side of the Full Moon Pack.
There was only a few packs located close to ours but none that are of a threat, the only reason we have amped up on our guards is because of the rogues and scarce hunters that we have been seeing around the area since the arrival of my mate and Anna.

I looked up as I heard someone clearing their throat to get my attention.

"Beta Jax, its nice to see you here"

My eyes widened in shock at the old man as I pulled him into a hug, "I thought you left and retired from this stuff".
"Retire from protecting this pack, when they took me in?"

I smiled in memory, "And besides I can still kick some rogue butt", he laughed.
Sam was a long time friend of my dad's, he was taken in as a rogue  by the previous alpha and had  became like an uncle to me. But he still calls me Beta Jax instead of Jax because of his respect for me.

"So what have you been up to, a little birdie told me that you had found your mate?"

"Yeah, her name is Allia; she's so beautiful and . . . . . . . . . perfect"

I looked up to see him grinning, "It sounds like someones in love", he sighed in remembrance "Sounds like me when I was younger and met Sharoll, she was the best thing to ever happen to me ... ... .. ... . treat her well, I'm happy for you Jax"

I looked up to the sky sighing also, the stars shined brightly as the half moon gleamed.

"Well I better get back to my station don't want any rogues sneaking in, now do we?"
I nodded at him saying goodbye and  watching him turn around and leave through the dark forest.          

I turned around and I surveyed the area and then closed my eyes leaning my head against the branch of the tree, seeing that there was no threat.

Fifteen seconds later I was alerted that there were two rogues spotted on the north eastern side of the pack and that they were moving quickly to my area.

Hearing rustling in the trees up above, I turned my head to look but couldn't as my knees became weak and I fell on the floor.

I howled in pain as I looked down to see a black arrow impaled in my chest, as blood seeped out and stained my shirt. I felt my heart beat become slower and slower as my eyes started to close.

The last thing I heard was Sam shouting, "Beta Jax, what's wr- ohh Noo!", and then I blacked out.

Anna's p.o.v.

"I'll be needing stitches",I sang along with Allia as we danced around the room.
We stopped when the song overed and fell back onto the comfy bed laughing. I grabbed the TV remote and sat up to look for a channel with a good show, stopping when I came to nickelodeon and Spongebob.

I told Allia what happened on the date already, and It consisted of alot of girly screaming and her shaking me. Afterwards we ate dinner and then started dancing to music. We wanted Mara to come to but she had a shift to work at the pack hospital tonight.

"Owww", I looked towards her as she pressed her hands against her chest.
"Is everything okay?", I asked grabbing her shoulder.

"Yeah, it's just that my chest is starting to hurt", she sighed heavily and drank some water, "Okay, I'm feeling kind of better now".

Another spongebob episode later and there was a knock on the door. I got up, and opened the door to see Danny standing before me, sweating like he had ran a marathon.

"What -.."

"We need to go, now."

"What's wrong" I hear Allia say behind me getting up from the bed and coming to stand next to me.
"Rogues were found around the border and Jax was hurt" he says his voice sounding pained.

"How badly?" Allia asked her voice cracking slightly towards the end.

"It's Bad"

And with that the three of us rushed to the pack hospital. Allia was silent but it looks as if she was going to cry at any moment.

Walking up the stairs we were directed to which room he was in and was quickly approaching it.

"I'm sorry ,but you can't go inside as yet" a nurse said to us blocking the entrance.

"Why not?" I hear Allia ask on the side of me. Her questioned remained unanswered as the nurse bowed her head and walked into the room.

"It's wolfsbane"

The three of is turned around to see Mara standing there in her nurse uniform.

She looked at me and Allia and then began to speak again,"It's a very harmful poison to werewolves it was found on the arrow that pierced him, in large amounts and there was also this", she handed me a note that had a little blood on it. I took if from her my hand shaking slightly as me and Allia looked at it.

I told you
No ones safe,
That I would come after that best friend of yours
I hope that he's doing okay
Send my condolences to the family

I grimaced at the note while Allia started to cry, I pulled her In for a hug, which lasted for about fifteen seconds before the hospital room door was pulled open. The docter came out a frown etched on his face.

"We need the antidote".
