A fist came flying towards me. I dodged it easily, and then I pushed a pressure point in his neck.
"I don't know why you guys even bother with me," I said as I walked away.
The man fell down on the ground and rolled over.
"Ugh," the man groaned.
I crept out of the dark alley and walked down the street. Then, something collided with my back.
"Who are you? I can sense there's something different about you. I watched you fight that grown man like it was a walk in the park," the strange voice said.
I laid on the ground wondering if I should answer truthfully or not. I eventually stood up.
"I'm just your normal teenager. Who are you?"
"You're not a normal teenager, and I'm not either."
I started to walk away, but he followed.
"Come on, at least tell me your name," he begged.
"Peyton. What's yours?"
"Brandon. Follow me. I have a few questions."
I don't know why I felt like I could trust him, but even though I just met him, I followed him.
"My powers are sensing certain things, strength, and I can persuade people to do things. Not big things, just simple things. What are your powers?"
"I told you I don't have powers," I replied.
"I told you I can sense things, and I can sense that you have powers. I don't know which powers, but you have at least one power."
I sighed. I always wanted to meet someone with powers like me, but he can sense my power, which I don't want to tell him. If I don't tell him, he won't leave me alone. I sighed again.
"I'm fast, and I can predict the very near future. I can only predict 4 seconds into the future."
We walked around town, and walked into the Mall.
"What do you like? Makeup?"
"Actually, I hate wearing makeup. I really don't care what I look like, as long as my hair is brushed," I replied.
He let me pick out something. I got a new hoodie and some other stuff, but I wondered why he got it for me. Did he like me?
THREE MONTHS LATER
"Peyton, are you there?"
"Brandon? Its been a while since we've talked. Well, only two weeks, but still."
"Come on. Get ready, but be fast."
I got my dark blue hoodie on, and grabbed my backpack. I didn't know what he wanted, but I knew he needed to talk. When I was done getting ready, I went outside.
"Let's make a team," was the first thing he said when I got outside.
"Wait, what? A team?"
"Yeah, if we ever find anyone else with powers! It would be awesome!"
I agreed with him, and we walked around town some more. Then, it occurred to me.
"You met someone else with powers, didn't you?" I asked.
"How'd ya know?"
"A team after all this time? Very unlikely, unless you found another person. Describe this new person."
"He has blonde hair, brown eyes. He can read minds, but only when he wants to."
"Wait, you're telling me I'm the only girl in this group?"
"If he was a girl I would be the only guy in this group, if it makes you feel better."
"Okay, what other powers does he have?" I asked.
"He can also control people's emotions. He has a good grip on both of his powers, thank god. I would hate it if he could only use his powers at random times."
