ISABEL'S POV

I tried to focus with my father standing right in front of me. We couldn't use our powers in front of normal people. It's a rule we made, and with good reason. I hate him, and now he expects me to listen to him. I clenched my fists.

"Isabel, come now," my father commanded.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"Just trust me."

"I tried that once and you betrayed me."

He pulled out a gun and quickly aimed it towards me.

"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way," he threatened.

"I'm not giving up without a fight," I said.

PEYTON'S POV

What the crap? Did she really just say that to him, while he's holding a gun? Well, I get that she's my crush and all, but that was stupid.

"No!" I yelled.

John pulled the trigger, and shot Isabel in the leg. She fell down and covered her wound.

"Isa—" I began, before everything went black.

LATER

I woke up, and my head hurt. Isabel was laying on the floor in a corner. I ran over there to see if she was okay, and she was still breathing. I checked her leg to see if it was okay, but the wound wasn't there.

"What the crap..." I said under my breath.

"Wha?" Isabel said, half asleep.

"C'mon, get up," I urged.

"Where... Where are we?"

"Uh," I looked around, and it looked like we were in the back of a vehicle.

"How did we get here?" She panicked.

I sat up and thought. How did we get here? Weren't we kidnapped? I just remember that there was a man, but who?

"My father," Isabel said.

"What?"

"My father kidnapped us. We have to escape or he'll brainwash us to work for him."

I tried to escape, but the vehicle was made so we couldn't. I looked over at Isabel. She was concentrating on something, but I wasn't sure what. Or at least that's what it looked like, but I wasn't sure because it was dark. The truck began to swerve off the road. I looked into the future. I grabbed Isabel and used my body to protect her from being slammed into the wall. The truck stopped moving, and it was on its side. I went to sit up but it was painful.

ISABEL'S POV

I sat up, not really sure what happened. When I realized what just occurred, I went to see if Peyton was okay.

"Peyton, are you okay?" I said with tears in my eyes.

"My back..." She mumbled.

I realized that there was a hole in the side of the semi, so I picked her up and carried her out of it. I looked around, but I wasn't sure where we were. I looked at my phone but we didn't have any service.

"Peyton, hang on."

I looked around, and there was a black GMC truck driving by, and it stopped. A man came out, and he had dark brown hair and light blue eyes.

"Let me take you to the nearest hospital," the man said.

I hesitated for a moment, but then climbed into his truck. I sat Peyton down in the back, and buckled her up. I did the same for myself.
