4TH OF JULY

I sat on the ground as I watched the gay couple float away on a small row boat. I began to cry. I thought it would be me and Brandon, not him and Austin. I'm glad that he's happy, and I won't get in his way. I just felt like it was destined for us to be together.

BRANDON'S POV

I don't know if I would've liked Austin without him using his power to make me like him at first. I stared into his brown eyes.

"Huh?" He said, noticing that I was staring at him.

"Oh nothing," I said, as I blushed.

I studied his blonde hair. It seemed so perfect, especially for a guy.

"When we get married, I want to adopt a child," Austin said, with a sparkle in his eyes.

"A boy or girl?" I asked, instantly engaged in the conversation.

"Actually, one of both. How cute would it be to have a lesbian girl?"

I chuckled at his response, even though I agreed with him.

"Oh, look! The fireworks are about to go off!" My boyfriend said, and that's one reason why I love him. He sounded like an adorable child. Usually young children annoy me, but he was an exception.

I grabbed his hand as the fireworks went off.

"I can sense that you want to kiss me," I said, smiling.

"I can read your mind, and you want me to kiss you," he said as he put his arm around me. He gently kissed my cheek.

PEYTON'S POV

I knew that I would have to find something else. Those two just loved each other too much. The couple pulled up and tied the boat up.

"Hey," Brandon said as he walked by," I'll be back. I'm going to buy ice cream cones."

After Brandon finally left, Austin turned to Peyton, and asked,"You love him, don't you?"

"What? No, you and him are dating," I responded.

"I read your mind. You can't lie to your feelings. Or me."

"Just read my mind. He's coming, and I don't want him to know."

AUSTIN'S POV

I looked into her eyes. It's always easier to read a person's mind when you stare into their eyes.

I liked him before you even came. I just want him to be happy, and he's happier with you. Please don't tell him, okay?

"I won't," I whispered to her.

I felt bad for stealing her love. It's what's he wanted, I suppose. You don't get love unless you act upon it, sometimes.

"They only had vanilla ice cream," Brandon said as he walked up to us. He dispersed the cones between the three.

"Come on, let go somewhere else so we can get a better view!" Brandon commanded.
