PEYTON'S POV
I continued to run. As I ran, I got my old hoodies out of my backpack. I went to my house and grabbed them on my way to the store. I finally arrived after a few minutes.
"Here, take these, and put them on. They will protect you from the gel because they'll cover more skin," I said as I passed the hoodies and masks out.
"Well, it looks like we're the 'Hooded Teens'," Austin joked.
We began to attack, but Isabel had two guns. We decided that we would try to outrun her, since she was an expert with them, and we would rather live than die. We eventually outran her.
"I think we're safe," Brandon said.
Brandon scratched behind his ear, looked at his hand, and a worried expression came across his face.
"What is it?" I asked.
"It's a tracking device, we need to run ASAP!" Brandon answered as he threw the device on the ground.
We began to run again, but it was too late. She shot her gun at me, and she hit me.
"AH!" I screamed as I fell.
"Peyton, no!" Austin yelled.
Austin flipped Isabel off. Brandon began running towards Isabel while she was distracted. He punched her hard enough to make her fall over.
"I usually don't hit girls, but you're the exception. Well, actually, I don't really hit anyone that often. Just punching bags."
Isabel began to get up, but Brandon's eyes began to glow and he commanded her to stay down.
Brandon rushed to Peyton and picked her up.
"C'mon, we need to get to the hospital."
A LITTLE WHILE LATER
Peyton lied in bed with her foot propped up.
"How long until she'll be able to walk again?" I overheard Austin ask.
"I'm not sure, but soon. It really isn't that bad. The bullet only got the end of her ankle, and it didn't stay in," the doctor reported.
JULY 17TH
I've completed healed since then, but it still hurt a little when I walked. I decided to go walking around town.
BRANDON'S POV
"Hey," Austin greeted.
"Hello," I replied. Something seemed off about him.
It was just me and him in the house.
"Umm.... I need to talk to you. It's important," he nervously said.
"Mkay."
"I don't want to say why, but I'm breaking up with you," he began to cry.
"Why? Did I do something?" I asked, on the verge of tears.
"No, it's not you," he said, "don't worry about it."
"What? How am I supposed to not worry about it? You're breaking up with me,and I love you!"
"Please don't—"
"Don't what? Don't ask why? You made me love you, and now this? You know what? I don't give a s***. Go ahead and break up with me," I stormed out.
AUSTIN'S POV
I didn't think he would be angry. I knew he would be upset, but I didn't think he would cuss at me. I wanted to give Peyton a chance with him, because she knew him longer, and she liked him longer, but then one day, I just came in and stole him from her like it was nothing. Brandon didn't even choose me. I used my powers to control his feelings. I went to my room and cried.
BRANDON'S POV
I went to my room. It was oddly clean, but only because I've haven't been in it so long. I've been hanging out in Austin's room, instead. I just don't understand why he broke up with me. Was it because of the Isabel incident? Was he scared that she was gonna beat him up because he's gay? Even if it was because if that, he should think that I would try to protect him. Peyton and I would try to protect him. I cried myself to sleep.
PEYTON'S POV
As I was walking, I decided to walk near the abandoned factory. Well, at least that's what everyone thought. As I walked by, I heard screaming and yelling.
"I GAVE YOU ONE JOB, ONE JOB, AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN DO PART OF IT," the man inside the building yelled.
