PEYTON'S POV

The yelling and screaming continued.

"YOU'RE FREAKING WORTHLESS, YOU PIECE OF TRASH! YOU'RE USELESS AND COULDN'T EVEN KILL ONE OF THEM!" The man yelled.

Then, a much quieter voice said, "I'm sorry, but I'm only one person and there were three. They were much stronger and smarter than what you said."

"Did you just talk back?" He asked, then soon after sounded like a kick.

I couldn't stand this any longer. I ran in there and yelled, "stop!"

"Oh. It's you. I know who you are," the man said, "you are Peyton, and you have powers. Have you been eavesdropping?"

"Yes I have," I admitted straightforward.

"Why would you tell me to stop hurting her when she tried to kill you and your friends?" The man questioned.

"Because you set her up."

"She's my daughter, and I can make her do whatever the heck I want her to."

"She's a human, ya know."

"Do you think I give a crap about your opinions?" he asked, "well, I don't. Guards, get her and put her in the cell."

I looked at Isabel. She did try to kill us, but I think she held back. She remained laying on the floor.

"C'mon," I said as I helped her up. "Do you want to get out of this place?"

She got up and followed. She was pretty fast earlier, before she got hurt. Luckily, we outran the guards.

"What now?" She asked.

"Well," I thought for a minute, "would you like to join our team?"

"What? Even after I tried to kill you?" She asked, confused.

"Don't worry, we both know that you didn't try that hard."

She hesitated, and eventually asked, "was it that obvious?"

"No, I could just tell. Well, do you wanted to join our team or not?" I asked smiling.

"I'll join. My father has been sending people to kill you, just some of them made a fool out of him. Like the ones that strapped a confetti bomb to Austin. Oh, as you know, my name's Isabel. What's yours?"

"I'm Peyton. Nice to officially meet you."

JULY 18TH (THE NEXT DAY)

AUSTIN'S POV

I laid on my bed, alone. It felt weird not having Brandon by me. I was cold without him. I heard footsteps  approach my door. Three was more than one person. I thought it was Brandon and Peyton. The door creaked open, and I saw Peyton with another person. When I saw who it was I sat up quickly, clenched my blanket, and with my other hand I grabbed the bat.

"WHAT THE H*** IS SHE DOING HERE?"

"Brandon, calm down. She only did it because her father made her," Peyton reassured.

"I'm really sorry, Austin," Isabel apologized.

"She's joining our team."

I rolled my eyes. After saying that they left. I would never forgive Isabel after what she did to me.

FLASHBACK

"Hey," I said as I walked up to my girlfriend and hugged her.

"Hey," Isabel said as she kissed my cheek.

"Do you want to hang out at my house so we can study?"

"Sure."

LATER AT MY HOUSE

Isabel and I sat on my bed. When we were done, she looked at me strangely.

"You know what would be fun?" She asked.

"What?" I asked.

"It would be fun to make out."

She began kissing me, but it took me a minute to realise what was happening. I quickly pushed her away.

"What was that for?"

"I told you at the beginning of our relationship, that I didn't want to kiss in the lips or anything sexual," I reminded her.

She slapped my cheek, then ran. I thought it was my fault.

"D***it," I said to myself, "I shouldn't have pushed her off. That may have costed us our relationship."

THE NEXT DAY

"Isabel, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me," I pleaded.

"How could I not forgive you," she said with a smile. We hung out for a while until recess was over.

LATER

I went to Isabel's house, to surprise her. She didn't know I was coming over. I walked up to her house, and I saw her kissing another boy. Her window was opened, so I climbed into her room.

"Stop this," I demanded as I pushed the boy away from her.

"What was that for? Can I not kiss my girlfriend?"

I looked at Isabel. Tears were beginning to run down my face. She grabbed my wrist and slapped me.

"Why did you push my boyfriend? I thought we were friends," she said.

"YOU FREAKING HOE! DON'T EVEN ACT LIKE WE AREN'T DATING!"

"Well, we aren't. Just because you want me doesn't mean that I'm dating you!" She said, then looked at the boy that she was making out with. "Rocky, make him get out of here."

Rocky pushed me out of the window, and I landed painfully on my back.

"Ouch!" I yelped in pain.

I ran to my house, and cried. I wasn't good enough, and that's why she left me.

PRESENT

I know now that it wasn't my fault.

BRANDON'S POV

A few minutes ago, I was told that Isabel joined the team. I thought it was a good idea. She's really nice when she isn't trying to murder you. I laughed harder than I should've when she told me the confetti bomb was just someone mocking her dad.

It was seven o'clock, and I was really tired. I decided to go to bed early.
